Dandelion Wishes a new Stampin' Up! Beauty

Water colouring with Stampin Up Dandelion Wishes

I fell in love with this stamp set the minute it appeared on my computer screen when the catalogue was shared with demonstrators.  It's so pretty and so special.  I wanted the 'fluff' to stand out and so having stamped first with Staz On onto water colour paper I then used a Versamark ink pad to just add ink to the seed heads and stamped just off the original black image.  I embossed with clear powder to create a resistant surface for those 'fluff' bits.

Using ink from the lids of my ink pads I slowly added water, then ink and so on to the piece building up the ink from light to darker.  I used inks in this order Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather and Blueberry Bushel.  I'm really pleased with the result and it proved popular on a demonstrator facebook group and last weekend at the Create It Show in Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire. It's so easy to create beautiful backdrops to such a simple stunning flower or should I say weed. No friend to the gardeners amongst us, but awesome for art work.

The Dandelion is also known as the Official Flower of the Military Child.  This is because it puts down roots almost anywhere and is impossible to destroy.  It's unpretentious and yet is good looking and a survivor in a wide range of climates. It has lots of attributes so long as you are not an avid gardener.

Do have a go at playing with ink, water and a stamp. It's a lot of fun.

Zoe this is lovely. One of the nicest cards I have seen with this stamp set. Thank you for sharing it.
