What a busy fortnight we have had. Charlie went to The Lake District on a school trip and had a fabulous time canoeing, walking and ghyll scrambling. He loved it. Olivia has been part of a business conference at school which sounded similar to the BBC's Junior Apprentice and we've also been visiting universities again and on Friday night we went to the Skegness Embassy Theatre to see the Lincolnshire Schools Prom with acts from numerous schools across the county including 2 rock bands from primary schools which were fantastic to watch such talent from folk so small. Of course with Charlie playing as part of West Street Jazz I'm a little biased on my favourite. It was a super evening and I recommend it to anyone. However the upshot of such busy times means that card making has been on the back burner, but I've managed to join in the Christmas Card Club challenge set by Lorraine. She asked for snowmen. I've seen a few versions of the Stampin' Up! Swirly Scribbles Framelits snowman and decided to have a go myself, but I've teamed mine up with snowmen from the Snow Place stamp set and Snow Friends framelits.
I layered some Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper onto thick white card and added my trio of snowmen. I think they are very cute and although abstract the swirly one looks good with the two more traditional snowmen. I love the candy cane too! The paper is just gorgeous and is fab to use as a background you might remember my card using it with the Stampin' Up! Floral Frames.
Don't forget to visit the other ladies in our Challenge Club for Christmas card inspiration.
Off now to watch more tennis.

Christmas Card Club - Cute Foxy Friends
Lovely Sylvie is our hostess at Christmas Card Club this fortnight and she set us the challenge of a cute Christmas card. I couldn't resist a little punch art for this one and my new Foxy Friends stamps and punch worked their magic and we have this cute trio all dressed ready for Christmas celebrations.
All three are created with the fox builder punch except the rabbits ears which started life as part of the bow builder punch and a little bit of freehand fussy cutting. My festive accompaniments are from Snow Place and sentiment from Oh What Fun. I'm also liking the new Classic Label punch which arrived with my UPS man this week.
A bold statement background works well I think with these cute characters and it is just a piece of designer series paper from the Pop of Pink pack. No pink here today though!
Also to add a little bit of different coloured fur to the European Badger featured I have used white craft ink and stamped with the large paint brush mark from Painter's Palette.
Please do visit the other ladies in our club who all have a cute card to share and different inspiration for you.
Happy Sunday. Zx

Christmas Card Club - A card for someone special
Happy Mother's Day to all mums in the UK
| Stampin' Up! Snow Place card by Zoe Tant UK demo |
I hadn't used my set of super cute Snow Place snowmen and penguins so got them out to make a card for my brother and his family. They have two boys and a little girl. It's easy and fun and you can dress them up how you want. It's a little like going back to childhood with those paper dolls and adding clothes.
Included in the stamp set, which is still available from the Stampin' Up! winter catalogue carry over list, are some snow flakes that in soft sky ink are just enough to add to the Christmas cheer and using the fine tip glue pen I've added some fine dazzling diamonds glitter exactly where I wanted it to give the illusion of snow and of course to satisfy my need for a bit of bling. The sentiments are from Crazy for You which I have jigged to suit using my stamp-a-ma-jig.
Folk have asked about my Dad's progress which is really very thoughtful. His operation went well and now he is coming round, but experiencing some pain naturally from such a big operation. Most of all he is missing food, as he has to now remain on a drip and only have drops of water. A long road ahead, but hopefully with no hiccups. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
Enjoy your Sunday and the week ahead.
Hugs Zx
