Stampin Up UK - Cards for Keeps

Stampin' Up! UK Cards for Keeps

The Stampin' Up! UK Cards for Keeps auction is up and running.  This is your chance to bid on cards made by celebrities in aid of the charity Coram, which is the oldest children's charity in the UK.

Stampin' Up! UK demonstrators were also asked to submit cards of which one lucky person has been chosen to have their card listed on ebay for this very worthy cause.  The winner is Helen and her beautiful card can be seen on her blog.  This is the card I sent in.  It's very different and I really like how it turned out and was really unsure about ever giving it away, but I hope along with Helen's that it and all the other cards sent in by Stampin' Up! UK demonstrators are put to good use to raise funds for Coram.

Please visit the Stampin' Up! UK Cards for keeps pinterest page to take a look at the celebrities cards and consider bidding on one or two of the fun, eccentric, one off amazing pieces of artwork.

Stampin’ Up! UK Gift Box by Zoe Tant

peachy keen stampin up uk gift box
Stampin' Up! UK Peachy Keen decorated Envelope Punch Board Box

One of the things I love most about my job as an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator is sharing the fabulous products at parties!!! I love meeting people and so parties are a great way for me to make new friends, learn crafty tips from them and see how happy they are when they meet Stampin' Up! products and I show them just what they can do with them.  Of course it's impolite to not thank the hostess and so I always like to make something for my hostess either at the party or before.  For Maria's party I made this cute box in advance using my envelope punch board and filled it with a lovely Bodyshop at Home limited edition product of Intensive Hemp Balm.  I made the box to fit myself, but have since found a handy tool for calculating your card stock size and scoring details from Joanne, another demonstrator.  She's kindly shared her Box Buster on her blog.  When you are ready to make yours visit her blog for the calculator and be sure to leave a comment to thank her.

My box is decorated with Peachy Keen & Happy Watercolour Stamp Sets and Retro Fresh designer paper, candy dots, very vintage buttons and linen thread.

Check out the video for the envelope punch board in my stampingscene post to see basic envelopes being made and then have a go at first envelopes and then boxes.  Need a punch board please visit my stampin' up! online shop!  Need a class to have a go then please do contact me and we can box crazy to gether.

Pssst - You make me smile!

Everyone has to start somewhere and I find that many folk are disuaded from having a go at crafting because they say they don't know how to put colours together, they aren't crafty in the creative sense of the word rather than the midnight burgler sense or they have no idea of where to start.

WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't have to be any kind of crafting expert to make this card! All you need is a couple of simple products from Stampin' Up!

Happy Watercolour Stamp Set
Brights Marvellous Marker Pens
Whisper white card blanks and envelopes....

and then make your own rainbow by colouring the stamps with the pens and stamping.  I turned the card on it's side and started with the middle 'splodge' and worked outwards on each side. Of course if you're a person who likes things to be evenly spaced then you might like to also have a pack of grid paper so that you can position the card and mark off each 'splodge's' position.

Now how hard does it need to be!

Beginners classes are up and running if you'd like to join in just send me a message or leave a comment and I'll be in touch with the details.

Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolour and more!

At card club recently I shared a type of emboss resist technique with my lovely ladies.  We used the spring catalogue stamp set Happy Watercolour to stamp in versamark on watercolour paper and then heat emboss it with clear powder.  You can then add colour washes with your aqua painters and ink pools created in the lid of your ink pads and a little more stamping using other stamps from the set along with stamps from Summer Silhouettes, Wetlands, Simply Sketched ( hostess set) and Gorgeous Grunge.

You can then mount your finished artwork on basic black card stock and onto naturals ivory card stock for the base card.  A sentiment from the ever useful and popular stamp set Perfectly Penned provides you with a striking card.

Now I'm not a colourer inner or a watercolourist, but this technique allows you to get the satisfaction of looking like you might be one day!!  I've done a similar one in different colours which once mounted and finished I will share.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend!
