Precious Butterflies Stampin' Up! Hostess Exclusive

Stampin' Up! Precious Butterflies Hostess Gift
The Less is More challenge today is a one layer card with the theme of 'use a flourish'.  I've taken mine from the gorgeous Stampin' Up! hostess set  Precious Butterflies, embossed it in clear and then sponged some cheerful colours over it to try and brighten this dull June we are having.
To make the square in the middle of your card you need to cut a mask of your card with an aperture in the middle.  You can then stamp your image and emboss it before replacing the mask to add your colour.  You can also use the Colour Spritzer to add some texture whilst maintaining your single layer of card.
A simple sentiment says it all and this one is from one of my favourite stamp sets Pocket Silhouettes.
Short post as I'm busy making my swaps for my trip to Vienna next week and trying to tidy up for my lovely MIL who's coming to watch the children.
Have a great day!

Stampin' Up! Saleabration Ends Today

It's ended today so here is a card to inspire you with your new free stamps.  Check back in April to see the new Stampin' Up! offer.
This card features the very popular Fresh Vintage stamp set mixed with a sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set for the Happy Birthday and 'Hello' is from the hostess set Swirls and Curls Verses which is available as a hostess gift until the end of the Spring Mini from Stampin Up ending on 30 April.  Email me your choice of dates for a party if you can't live without this cute sentiment set.

Of course the Spice Cake Suite which includes the yummy designer series papers spice cake also go at the end of April.  You can see how even scraps of paper can add some 'spice' to your cards above, along with ends of rolls of lace and seam binding fastened with a glimmer brad.  The choice is endless and your biggest problem is choosing what and which colour to buy first.

The final touch is a little bit of spritzing with the Stampin' Up! Colour Spritzer and a couple of marker pens.  Suddenly Sahara Sand cardstock is much more attractive than you ever thought it could be.

More soon. Zx

Chic Chick!

So how are you all this Wednesday evening.......? I've been busy with half-term doing slow mornings, trips out, and some crafting while the children entertained themselves baking halloween gingerbread.  I'm now ahead of myself as far as convention goes.  I have my swaps made and am feeling rather smug about it.

I have a card to share with you that I made for Olivia's friend's birthday.  It's perfect for the rising teens, but does have one cheat on it in that the shoe shape was cut using a die from my stash.  However the gorgeous fresh and bright designer papers are one of the new hostess only purchases.  The pack is called Cheerful Treats and is just lovely.  Sadly the modern label punch I've used for the handbag retired in September, but you can create the same effect with some of our other punches.  Itty bitty buttons are perfect for accessorising dresses like this and with the coordinating punches you can turn them into whatever colour you want them to be.  The punched shapes also work well as a clasp on the handbag.

It was a great party I understand, but I can't believe how awful I now find the loud music and steamy atmosphere at drop off and pick up time.  I also know that unlike the teenagers at the party, I cannot wear, well I could wear but wouldn't be able to move, shoes with killer heels such as these.  I guess middle age is catching up with me!!!! Best go out and party to make the feeling go!

Have a great evening.
