Fr'o'nk's Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip Adventure Continues

Saturday morning was exciting for the demonstrators in Vienna as it was time to share their swaps with each other.

Here's a look at my swap

I used air dry clay and stamped it with a 'naked' Parlour Prints background and then used basic black ink to stamp Vienna in the language of the recipient. Here you see a french version (picture courtesy of Dorothy).
By the time swapping was over Fr'o'nk was somewhat bored and so decided to attract our attention by free falling from the roof of the hotel.  Luckily for him Natalie was quick of the sofa and caught him as he passed the hospitality suite window!!!

Confined to the sofa, he rested before he was  persuaded to spend the day sightseeing. He headed out for the famous Zanoni Zanoni Ice Cream Parlour for some gorgeous italian gelato.  Yes believe it or not Vienna is full of Italian ice cream shops.

He took in the sights!!
He admired one bust

And then another

Before he ignored the sign saying keep off the grass!!!

His behaviour went downhill from then on.  He took to drinking.......

After a sleep on park bench

he was caught short...........

and finally stopped by the Police

who threw him jail

where he realised the error of his ways, but not before the influence of ice cream and all the other naughties he'd consumed took their revenge.

I offered mitigation for his behaviour and persuaded the Police that his youthful exuberance and excitement had got the better of him and that he promised to behave for the remainder of the trip.  They agreed to release him.  I wish I could be this successful when negotiating life with my children.

That evening he agreed to have a quiet dinner in the hotel restaurant before joining the rest of the group in the bar.

(food picture for those of you who know who you are........)

In the bar he even bumped into George Clueknee
(who does he think he's kidding!!!!!!!!!!!! Just don't tell him that I know he's not the real George Clooney!)

It was then up the apple and pears, well up in the posh lift actually,  to the land of nod for sweet dreams about his adventure in Vienna on the Stampin' Up! UK Incentive Trip 2012.

No stuffed animals, policemen or husbands were hurt in the production of this story.

Stampin' Up! Vienna Incentive Trip Gala Dinner

During life prior to Stampin' Up! and children I was in the Royal Navy and was lucky enough to experience many events and activities that others don't, but I have to say that the Stampin' Up! Vienna Incentive Trip Gala Dinner night is up there on my list of WOW things I have experienced.  It started romantically, well you have to imagine that bit as we did share a carriage with MONICA  ( LOL. One of my dearest SU friends and second only as a roomie to my DH), as we were transported in a horse-drawn Fiaker to the Museum of Fine Art,  on the most beautiful of evenings.

Our destination the Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum (Museum of Fine Arts).

Photo call for all the UK Stampin' Up! Vienna Incentive Trip Achievers with the UK Business Development Manager
The Master of Ceremonies inviting us to follow him up the stairs to view this beautiful atrium and the spectacular dining room.

But even a Master of Ceremonies needs time out for a text and to rest his weary feet!!!

Our entertainment included a concert from the Vienna Boys Choir

The Fine Art Museum in Vienna is comparable in its collection of artwork to that of the Louvre or the Prado Museums, but is less well known.  Possibly some suggest because it's name isn't as catchy, but the collection is magnificent and includes work by  Pieter Brueghel the Elder, Durer, Van Dyck, Rembrandt and Rubens.

Our tour guide was both well informed and passionate about the work she showed us, but she also had a sense of humour and suggested we look for the Bob Hope lookalike in this picture
and a character similar to Wally in the Where's Wally books!!
See if you can spot them both!

A scaffolding platform was in place which allowed us close access to a ceiling space and a closer than normal view of some of Gustav Klimt's work.  Vienna celebrates his 150th anniversary this year.

It was a truly amazing evening and so special due to the exclusive privileges we received within the museum and the concert delivered by such talented boys and their tutor.

ps the food was delish, but no photos!!!!!!!!

Strudel Making in the Schonbrunn Bakery - Stampin' Up! Style

Strudel making at the Schonbrunn Palace was a surprise group activity that we all enjoyed and entered into the spirit of it completely.  Bekka's partner Joe somehow managed to get a floury derriere and I'll leave it up to you to work out how!!! (No it wasn't really Shelli, but Bekka has a naughty smile!!!!)

Not alone, as others tried it too,  some vented their frustrations on each other!!!

And some S-T-R-E-T-C-H-E-D  the politeness and patience of the staff as well as the pastry!!!!!
Some couldn't resist a little nibble in between rolling and stretching!

Some husband and wife teams pretended to look nonchalant to give the impression that there wasn't really a battle of the sexes going on with something as simple as strudel making.  Competitive edge is the all important thing when pride is stake!!!
Some thought it was Captain Jack Sparrow aka Johnny Depp who'd been spotted in the grounds and tried out as extras for the next installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Some caused great consternation,  amongst those watching around them.

Some just stood in line and behaved......................briefly!
Although what Michelle is doing with her hands to make her pucker up like that I don't know!

and of course some just had to be silly!
Fr'o'nk sat with the well behaved and so was hidden from view, but can be seen on the Stampin' Up! facebook page!

And although once cooked most strudels looked like road kill to fit them in the box some talented folk shared  their creativity by adding their names in pastry.

Such a fun activity - I recommend it to you all!
One tip though - Don't eat all of it at Midnight like a certain Passionette Leader did!!

More soon
