Today we said goodbye to Mick. I don't think anyone goes to a funeral to enjoy it, but I think it's fair to say that if the service reflects the life of the person lost then it can be considered as ......... well I'm not really sure; as going well I guess. Today was no exception. The service was not religious in the slightest as Mick wasn't at all interested. It did however reflect upon and cause smiles with the stories about his cheeky grin and his friendly, approachable personality. He was fun loving and obviously very popular.
My friend Ann-marie, Mick's wife, took comfort from the fact that so many people came to pay their respects and I'm glad to say that the words I stamped in her card also helped and they were from Abraham Lincoln no less and said 'The best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.' You've probably heard it before, but it's so true. She knows that time is a great healer of pain and that in time memories will bring her comfort.
Today also saw a new beginning. Our neighbours rabbit decided to go free-range just like it's friend did about 18 month ago. It went walkabout through ours and our neighbours' gardens. Typically my children were out and so I took a picture. 
His friend was known as Benny Bunny in our house and our immediate neighbour called him Mr Rabbit. However it turned out to be a girl and her owners called her Brown Rabbit. We're really up for originality here!!!!!!!!!!! NOT!
To close my thoughts are with Ann-marie and her family.
