3 Squares Challenge at Less is More, but only one at Creative Craft World

stampin up demonstrator zoe tant uk

The Challenge at Less is More this week is to make a card with three squares and the challenge at Creative Craft World is 'Use a square' so I've got squares to share.  I've used a technique that I found on US blog recently and played about with it.  I have another colour way to show you soon, but it doesn't have 3 squares unless you count the card base itself so for now here is my entry.  I've used early espresso and very vanilla cardstock along with early espresso ink, craft whisper white and versamark.  My sentiment is a combo of Thank You Kindly and Heard from the Heart.  I've added a cute bow of early espresso taffeta and I'm done.  I played about with it and couldn't decide whether to run with early espresso or stamp my outline for the flowers in black Stazon.  I've settled with the espresso and have finally opened my Fast & Fabulous level 2 hostess set.  I wasn't that fussed, but as with all Stampin' Up! sets once you get playing they are all fabulous and so much fun to use.  Today I've received my sneak peak of the mini and you are going to be so excited.  I can't tell you anymore right now, but make sure you call me for your copy!!!! They'll be available in late March.  You can take a closer look at one of the flowers below.

Thanks again to the Chrissie and Mandi for a super challenge and I'm off now to do the chores that I should have been doing while DH has taken the children out for the afternoon.
Have a great evening.
Hugs Zx

Hi Zoe,
I'm glad you seem to be enjoying our challenges. This is a great card... I think I may have just kept with the 'thanks' rather than combining the two sentiments but the treatment of the images is fab!
It's super to see you again, and see you next week!

You might be right Chrissie, but I'm showing how versatile our lovely stamps are and that you don't have to use the whole stamp if you don't want to and that you can combine.

The bow covers other sins, but I like it anyway. It was the colours I was unsure of.

Super card. very effective. x

What a great idea to use a dark colour for the flowers; it's easy to automatically go for bright colours for flowers but this looks really effective.

Hi Zoe - I love the simple two colour combination and may have to steal your idea and 'interpret' it - display the results and reveal the source of my inspiration naturally !!! - Bridgette xxx

Love the image on this one, looks like you have used water colour. Nice composition. Think I might have hidden 'my sins' with a little gem, but then how big was your sin? Love Sheila (Cyprus)

That's beautiful! Thank you for taking up our challenge at Creative Craft World.

Hi Sheila no it's not watercolour and the sin was a pearl already that I pulled off. Hey ho. Thanks for popping by.

Love the card, and the way you have graduated the images down on the squares - clever.

gorgeous card Zoe, glad you opted for early espresso rather than stazon - that might have been to harsh with the gentle flowers.

Zac no at pre-school, as soon as he starts full days we'll have to sort lunch out!

Gorgeous card - I think the espresso works brilliantly with these flowers. For me it gives them more of a realistic feel than harsh black would.

With so many entries in the challenge I have to limit my browsing somehow. Your card caught my eye as I thought it was a black and white colour scheme. After a closer look I love it even more as it is a beautiful espresso/vanilla combination. yum
