Stampin' Up! Christmas card |
This is how I created my baubles
- make a paper stencil using a circle punch.
- position stencil on your card and stamp with versamark. Remove stencil and emboss with clear embossing powder and allow to cool
- return the stencil to reveal only your embossed image, use a sponge and to add ink to make the embossed pattern 'pop'
- use different patterns to make different designs and add pearls or glimmer paper for that festive bling!
- To overlap two ornaments you need to do one and then partially mask it to add one behind following the same process above.
- You can also stamp your bauble onto a separate piece of scrap card stock to then punch it out and adhere it with stampin dimensionals to give some definition.
For the bauble decoration you can use any stamp set and it doesn't have to be a Christmas one. I used Mixed Bunch and you can see that used on another Christmas card on a previous post. Sentiments only need to be simple for Christmas and this one is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
Have a great day!

Thanks Margaret, it did take time, but I really enjoyed it this morning while the house was quiet. We have two trees in our house, one for the kids and one for everyone which I 'faff' with when they've gone to bed! Zx
Yep we call 'em baubles too Zoe. I love lots of baubles on my tree. Gave my huge tree to my daughter when she moved into her house so we either need a new one or a real one this year as we were away last Christmas. Loving the card too hun, such a fab idea and a great tutorial too.

Lovely card Zoe! Love your pretty ornaments...Yep...that is what we call them here!
I do a 7 foot fake trees in red and white and silver ornaments. I have a mix of plain modern sort of ornaments and fancy detailed ones. I used to do a huge tree with "antique" glass ornaments. I kept the nicest and place them in a huge glass bowl on the dining room table. I have various sizes of glass vases and bowls around them...one with silver ornaments, one with red and one one full of silver jingle bells!
Thanks for the nice tutorial and I'm glad you liked your card.
Love this one Zoe - definitely baubles in our house. I also love your colour choice, really great layout as well.

Oh this looks fantastic and you put me to shame. I just used a die and you did all this great work. They are baubles in my house. Because I don't have kids my trees tend to be quite sophisticated. Red in the lounge, (not the tree - the decs Lol!), gold in the dining room and blue and white in the conservatory because it is not heated and gives a cold icy feel. A lot of work but I just love it! Christine xx
Gorgeous and so elegant - love the baubles - super response to Kerry's CCC challenge x
Love this Zoe, your stamping is fabulous. They're baubles in our house too :) Carol x
Wow sounds like a real winterwonderland. Maybe you should sell tickets!
Thanks Carol. Seems like baubles are hit with most!
