Christmas Card Club

Our fortnightly Christmas Card Club challenge has been set by the lovely Dawn which states that you must include an angel in your project.  My angel is from an old US Stampin' Up! set called Holiday Helpers and the sentiment is also retired from the UK Idea Book, Welcoming Words.
You can heat emboss the angel in gold having first dry embossed the designer oval frame onto whisper white cardstock.  To add more texture you can use your simply scored scoring tool and using the dotted scallop ribbon border punch to add a brushed gold card stock frame.  The sentiment can also be heat embossed and a ribbon bow in whisper white taffeta is a cute finishing touch for a cute angel.  The ribbon also takes up Hazel's challenge on her Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Challenge and the layout is taken from the Less is More Sketch challenge from the ever popular Chrissie and Mandi's challenge blog.

Here's the sketch.
See above for my Stampin' Up! version of the sketch.

In Love with Stamping Inspiration Challenge

I finally found a few minutes to have a go at the Inpiration Challenge set by Kate on the Inlovewithstamping forum. You can see lots of cards and projects in the gallery there so why not click on the link on the right sidebar and take a peek! This is the latest picture to draw your inspiration from. Above is my interpretation of this funky colour combo. I've used retired US sets Topiary and Soft Swirls background stamp. I've used whisper white taffeta ribbon, but used my pixie pink marker to dye it. Another good reason to buy the Marvellous Markers! I've used dimensionals to add depth and finished it off with a few sparkly dots that I bought from Cloudnine my local craft shop. I kinda like the whole effect, but I'm not sure I could live with it as wallpaper! What about you?
