Striking Valentine Hearts & Glitter Window Tutorial

Hi everyone. Hope your having a great weekend. We've been very busy so far with a childrens craft birthday party, a panto involving my daughter and the usual round of weekend clubs. However I found a few minutes to share a project with you.
I decided recently to have a go at the very easy glitter window technique and here's an example and mini tutorial. It's a process that lends itself well to give a little sparkle to your projects very simply. Here I've also used Crystal Effects to give dimension and shine to the hearts in the top row. The hearts punch has been used along with a stamp from Sealed with a Kiss for the embossed image at the bottom and inside the card a cute little heart from Hello Again.
Punch out the shape you wish to have as your glitter window.

On the reverse put scotch tape to cover the openings created by the punch.

Turn over again and liberally sprinkle glitter onto the scotch tape showing. I've used the red from our fab Fine Galaxy Glitter. A little goes a long way.

Pat it gently with your finger to ensure that all the tape is covered and this may, in the light, look a little thin, but once you adhere your window onto your project you will see that the true colour of the glitter stands out.

You can adhere your glitter window onto your project and enjoy a little sparkle.
It's easy so give it a try.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll be back soon.

Pinch punch, first day of the month!!!!

Did you get caught out by that old little saying today?? My hubby got me and usually does, but I find the response 'a slap and kick for being so quick!' works wonders for getting him up to make the tea!!
So it's already February and even though it is still freezing we Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrators have our minds set on 'Love'. Yes Valentine's day is fast approaching and so I've made a couple of cards to get you in the mood! I'll just share this one with you today.
This is very simple and took only a few minutes. I've used the hearts punch in whisper white and kept the punched shapes. I've cut an oval out of the middle of the same piece of whisper white and mounted it onto a real red card blank. In the centre of the oval using my stamp-a-ma-jig I've embossed a white frame from Frames with Flourish and also text from Sealed with a Kiss set. The saved white hearts have been adhered above and with the two way glue pen I've added dazzling diamonds glitter. A red gingham bow has added the final touch to quick and easy card.
I've more to come with a mini tutorial so check back soon.
