Christmas Card Club–Festive Flurry

IMG_7374
Happy Sunday morning!  The sun is shining here in Lincolnshire and I really hope it is for all the people hit by the terrible storms bringing them a tiny bit of brightness.  I just hope the sunshine continues.  Let's hope so.  Thoughts are with you all.
Our Christmas Card Club challenge this fortnight has been set by Hazel She asked for snowflakes or all white on our cards.  I've gone for the snowflakes and mostly white using my Festive Flurry stamp set and the small snowflake from Snow Day.  I used circle framelits and my 2.5 inch circle punch to make 'holes' in my top layer and then stamped through them to add the large snowflakes which are heat embossed with silver.  The remaining mini snowflake were stamped and heat embossed with whisper white and a rhinestone added as a central feature.  Candy dots are fast becoming one of my favourite embellishments and I've added those to the centre of the large snowflakes.  Mini 'fork' bows, yes I tied them using a plastic fork, just add a little more discreet sparkle.  The whole card is made using Shimmery White card stock which adds an extra shimmer, although difficult to photograph well.

If you like the Festive Flurry stamp set it's still available along with some of the other Stampin' Up! stamp sets from our winter catalogue on a carryover list. Contact me for details.

Christmas Card Club - Snowman

Snow day from Stampin' Up!

I'm back with my second post for Christmas Card Club.  This fortnight's challenge was set by Sue J over at her lovely blog Olliesmam.  The challenge is to include a snowman and you couldn't really get a much jollier snowman than this cute little fellow.  Such a great smile and and I love his buttons made from candy dots and candy dot brad bases.  I stamped his body with craft white ink and sprinkled a little dazzling diamonds on him before adding white embossing powder and heating.  You can just about see the sparkle in the top photo taken in the morning sunshine.   I wanted to give his scarf some texture and so I cut a strip of stitched satin ribbon in half lengthways to get some fraying and also to not drown the poor chap!   His message is simple and says it all!   For those of you worrying about writing inside a black base card we now have a White Stampin' Chalk Marker which is perfect for writing in dark coloured cards and adding your name onto kit.

A final note for today..... Before heading out for school this morning Charlie asked me if I had slept well and this is how the conversation went.
Me : yes thank you
Charlie : Did you dream about MEN!!!
Me : CHARLIE
Charlie :  Or chocolate biscuit cake?

What makes a small boy's mind work this way!!!!

Ah well off to enjoy this beautiful morning. Hope it's just a lovely with you! Have a great day. Zx
