Christmas Card Club - Traditional Colours with Peace This Christmas

Time flies when you are having fun and I've been so busy going to end of term events with the family and crafting that I've forgotten to post.  However I'm here today with my card for the latest Christmas Card Club challenge in which Christine asked us for a card with traditional colours.  This card fortuitously was one made at my Christmas in July event last weekend.  It uses the really pretty stamp set, Peace This Christmas and matches the This Christmas specialty designer series papers both in the Stampin' Up! UK annual catalogue.  The papers are a set that offers 24 sheets, 4 each of 6 double-sided designs which are acid and lignin free so perfect for memory keeping as well as Christmas projects and cards.  They are also patterned in such a way that they will work well with all year projects as some are non-festive in their design.

As well as crafting events which were lots of fun we've also had some good family fun.  Last Saturday night we were lucky enough to get some of the last tickets for a production presented by BBC Radio Lincolnshire called Green Fields Beyond which told the story of a brother and sister from Lincolnshire who went from life on the farm into the city of Lincoln to play their part in the war effort in 1916.  The sister took a job in a factory and the brother went off to war.  The story was about their ongoing lives and that of the invention and manufacture of tanks in Lincoln.  It was an community cast production and took place in Lincoln castle grounds. It was very moving and very interesting and luckily the rain stayed away.  We took a picnic and had a super evening.  We also joined the queue for the photo booth to try on some vintage uniforms.

I'll be back with more projects soon, but in the meantime enjoy the remainder of the weekend, tour the other ladies blogs for Christmas card inspiration and do come back soon.

Christmas Card Club - Stampin Up Swirly Snowmen

What a busy fortnight we have had.  Charlie went to The Lake District on a school trip and had a fabulous time canoeing, walking and ghyll scrambling.  He loved it.  Olivia has been part of a business conference at school which sounded similar to the BBC's Junior Apprentice and we've also been visiting universities again and on Friday night we went to the Skegness Embassy Theatre to see the Lincolnshire Schools Prom with acts from numerous schools across the county including 2 rock bands from primary schools which were fantastic to watch such talent from folk so small. Of course with Charlie playing as part of West Street Jazz I'm a little biased on my favourite. It was a super evening and I recommend it to anyone.   However the upshot of such busy times means that card making has been on the back burner, but I've managed to join in the Christmas Card Club challenge set by Lorraine.  She asked for snowmen.  I've seen a few versions of the Stampin' Up! Swirly Scribbles Framelits snowman and decided to have a go myself, but I've teamed mine up with snowmen from the Snow Place stamp set and Snow Friends framelits.

I layered some Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper onto thick white card and added my trio of snowmen.  I think they are very cute and although abstract the swirly one looks good with the two more traditional snowmen.  I love the candy cane too! The paper is just gorgeous and is fab to use as a background you might remember my card using it with the Stampin' Up! Floral Frames.

Don't forget to visit the other ladies in our Challenge Club for Christmas card inspiration.

Off now to watch more tennis.

Moving Along with the Times challenge time

I'm a dog lover and as you know have a crazy Border Collie so when this new stamp set appeared in the Stampin' Up! catalogue I couldn't resist.  It's so adorable and I've used Bella and Friends for my design team card for the challenge of 'no designer papers' over at MAWTT set by Janice.  Please do visit our blog and see the DT creations and join in the challenge. It's just for fun and we'd love to see what you do with this theme which is almost an anything goes opportunity.

I love these colours too which are all from our fabulous in colour collections. You can see here Mint Macaron, Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Watermelon Wonder and Peekaboo Peach.  You might recognise them from the front cover of the Stampin' Up! catalogue.

I've stamped Bella and Percy in black Staz On ink and then used a blender pen to pick up colour from the ink pad lids to colour in the images.  I've also stamped Percy and the balloon twice so that I could fussy cut them out and add a little dimension to the scene.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I've exciting news today also.  From today until the end of July for every £45 you spend in each single order you will receive via email a coupon to use in August when shopping again with Stampin' up!.  You can shop online with me today HERE
