Stampin Up Demonstrators team up for the Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Brusho Crystals

Welcome to February's Totally Techniques Blog Hop.  You may have arrived from Annette's blog where she has worked wonders with her chosen technique which is ideas for using the Brushos Crystal Colours.  On the market for some time, but new to the Stampin' Up! product offering I have    become addicted to these fabulous powdered paints.  They are so versatile and if, like me, you like playing about or rather getting messy with ink then you will love them too.

Here's a short video to show you how to get started with some tips for more advanced or should I say a little more adventurous crafters too.

You'll see from the video that I used a mixture of techniques. I first coloured the daffodil heads by adding water to the flowers and then adding the yellow powder.  I built up the background by using a block as my palette and adding the paint with an aqua painter. I used kitchen paper to mop up excess water and also allowed the piece to dry before adding more colours and that allowed me to add darker shades if needed.

The sentiment is part of the Stampin Up You're Inspiring set and that is simply stamped on black card stock in white craft ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I hand cut the pennant but if you need to be sure it's perfectly straight a trimmer and punch can be used.   I've added some sliver/white baker's twine and a couple of matting layers of white card to frame my image letting it speak for itself.

This card is a mixture of painting with BrushOs mixed in a palette and sprinkling some crystals in two colours namely yellow and red to create the leaf colours and I used an aqua painter for moving the ink around the leaves and also to paint the blue background.    The leaves were stamped with archival black and allowed to dry thoroughly before painting.  Once painted I used a fine tip glue pen to add some gold fine glitter for that bit of bling that I love.

You can see another one of my 'plays' with Brushos on this stamping scene post where I used the Stampin' Up! Saleabration stamp set Epic Celebrations with a fun card for teenagers.

Thank you for joining us this month I hope you find lots of inspiration for our hop and don't forget to visit us next month for our Totally Techniques Hop which will be Crinkled Background Technique.

Thanks for visiting me

Stampin' Up! Cheers to the Years for Achiever's Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip Achievers Blog Hop

Welcome to this fun blog hop showcasing sneak peeks from the upcoming Stampin' Up! Winter catalogue due to go live to everyone on 1 September.  It is a real ecclectic mix of seasonal treats and I truly believe there is something to satisfy everyone's tastes.

I've used the Cheers to the Years stamp set for this simple, elegant wedding card, yes you read it right, a wedding card from the winter catalogue. We're still mid wedding season and I have fallen in love with this set which has good wishes for the new year, snowflakes and some simple stamps that can be used for wreaths or for abstract design.

My design layer started life as a piece of whisper white to which I added a clear heat embossed design using one stamp.  I then added pool party ink to using a sponge brayer.  I carefully added some copper embossing being careful to use my embossing buddy and to heat the design from underneath to avoid too much blending between the white and copper embossing.  I've also added some individual silver mini sequins and tiny white hearts from the Cookie Cutter Builder punch.  The sentiment is included in the Cheers to the Years set and that too is heat embossed with copper powder before being put under the sponge brayer treatment to make it blend with the background.

The inside has a small amount of design and adds the additional part of the sentiment from the same set.

If you don't have a demonstrator and would like to know more about Stampin' Up! products please email me at zoetant@live.co.uk. I will happily send you a complimentary copy of the winter catalogue for you to browse.
You can also get more sneak peeks by carrying on with the blog hop from me, Zoe Tant, here in the UK.

More sneak peeks coming soon Zx

Moving Along with the Times - English Country Garden

Stampin' Up! Label Me Pretty

This time at Moving Along with The Times we are sharing cards with the theme English Country Garden.  I've used this fabulous paper with delightful daisy/marigolds on it to act as a back drop and used the very popular Label Me Pretty stamp set and matching punch.  I've just got roses in small form on the label.

I stamped in Old Olive ink and used a marker pen in Daffodil Delight to add some colour to some of the flowers.  The new Mini Chevron ribbon in Old Olive is lovely too and is soft but has enough texture to hold knots or bows. The designer papers are called Delightful Daisy and are stunning.

Item # 144137

Do visit the MAWTT blog and join in our challenge and check out the other design team members cards.

It's August Promotion Time with a blog hop!!!

Hi everyone and welcome if you've joined me from Sarah's blog.

Wow what a whirl these past few weeks have been. My little girl, or rather not so little girl has left primary school having taken part in an amazing leavers assembly and is now set to start at 'BIG' school in September. My little boy moves up to junior school, but will I suspect still win prizes or detentions for his stories! His parting shot from school was to take in a plastic dinosaur skeleton for show and tell. He tried to tell the teacher and his classmates that he'd been on an archaelogical dig and found it and that it was at thousands of years old!! That nearly tops when he told his nursery teacher that his granny used to live in a castle until she fell off the wall and the dragon ate her!!!

Now on to other exciting things! Well exciting for all of us who love to stamp! There is 20% discount on selected two step stamp sets for the whole of August from Stampin' Up! In addition to that I am offering a free mystery gift to anyone who spends £20 during August. Don't forget that if you spend £25 you can also get a token for my loyalty scheme which gives you a free stamp set when you've collected 10 tokens!
To give you some inspiration I'm part of a blog hop showcasing some of the stamp sets on offer.
The blog hop was organised by Sarah who suggested a scrapbook hop. I'm not a natural scrapper so decided to take up the challenge and have a go. I hope you like what I've done with Greenhouse Garden using melon mambo, bravo burgundy and pretty in pink. The odd mug or saucer was a great way to introduce some circles and markers and the white gel pen work wonders for faux stitching. The rub ons worked well for minimal journaling and a few punched borders outline the pictures. I made a ribbon flower with the bravo burgundy grosgrain ribbon and a pretty in pink button. It brings back special memories of fun times and my youth!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my do I sound old! From me you need to move onto to my great friend and team mate Emma who has used Loads of Love stamp set. Enjoy the hop and don't miss out on this fabulous discount during August!
