Ladies Circle meets Stampin' Up!

The North Eastern Regional Ladies Circle Lunch Committee for 2010

Hi everyone, I hope you are well out there in blog land. Thank you to everyone leaving comments. Please keep them coming as they make my day!
You may be wondering why I have loaded all these photos including the one above of some very smart ladies............ Well for the past 18 months I have been part of the organising committee for the North Eastern Regional Luncheon for Ladies Circle. The lunch is an annual event and is held in a different 'area' for Ladies Circle each year. This year was the turn of Area 28 of which I am part. Our area chairman, Racheal, (in black boots in the middle) has chosen Action for Young Carers as her charity and so profits made from the lunch and the raffle will be donated to this worthwhile cause. You can find links to Ladies Circle via our area blog.
My role was to produce the menus and table favours for this event held at the Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. You can get a glimpse of how beautiful the room looked below. Such a large room I couldn't get it all in!
The table favours were my favourite twist box and were filled with Thorntons Chocolates. As you can imagine making over 100 took some time, but don't they look great!!!

The colour scheme of old olive, very vanilla, real red and gold was chosen to compliment the room finish. Cheers to You stamp set and the Cheers standard wheel played a major role in the design as they complimented our theme of 'Luxuriate with 28'

I started making the menus slowly each month at craft club. A bit of scoring here and a bit of punching there. It made it easier to complete and meant that I made less mistakes.

Inside the details of the day and each menu was personalised. Here's mine!

Our speaker, Steve Hunt, a diamond expert was unfortunately unable to attend on the day due to illness, but thankfully a limited number of committee members had a reserve plan. We booked some singing waiters who surprised everyone by first pretending not to be able to sing and then showing us how well they really could.

Everyone joined in and the atmosphere was fabulous.

I have yet to get confirmation of the money made for charity, but I'm delighted to say that many of my fellow demonstrators supported us by buying raffle tickets at our recent training event in Manchester and via paypal and also many customers bought tickets. Thank you to you all. It's great that some of them won prizes although sadly none of us won the 1/2 carat diamond pendant that Steve generously donated.
A great day was had by all and it's always better when funds are raised for a well deserving cause.
Thanks again everyone for your support.
More soon.
