Stampin' Up! Clockworks and Feeling Sentimental

I always find it much harder to make cards for the men in my life than the ladies, but we currently have quite a few sets that work well for mens cards including Clockworks and the SAB set Feeling Sentimental.  With the First Edition Specialty Papers and the new natural trim ribbon in the Spring Mini it's much easier and neutrals are always good to use for men.

On my matting layer I've also used the woodgrain background stamp which is another staple for these elusive cards.  The new petite curly label punch is of course, in true Stampin' Up! style,  a perfect fit for my sentiment, short and sweet, on the clock face and is again from another free stamp set during SAB and that's Pretty Petites.  You can of course choose the punch as a freebie or buy it soon.

To add more 'butch' texture I crumpled the paper and then used a sponge dauber to gently highlight the creases.  A little piece of left over linen thread tied back the corner and a plain old supermarket £1 stapler is great for attaching ribbon trims.   I've also used the colour spritzer tool with a coordinating marker to soften the crumb cake base card.

The finishing accessory is the cute, but perfectly formed mini button brads that come from the vintage trinkets accessory pot which also has pewter mini safety pins.

Have a good day and keep warm if you're anywhere like me where it's freezing!
