Totally Techniques Papercraft Blog Hop with Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance

spotlight die cut technique using stampin up butterfly brilliance

Hello and welcome to our first Totally Techniques International Stampin' Up! demonstrator blog hop of 2022.  Our theme this month is the Spotlight Technique.

For my design I used the stamp set Butterfly Brilliance which contains just one stamp, but it stamps all the beautiful butterflies in one go.  The butterflies are different sizes and can be cut out to add the perfect one to your project or any number of them.

I stamped using my Stamparatus positioning tool to make sure that if I missed a bit of inking I could reink the stamp and stamp again confident that the stamp was in the same position.  I then die cut one circle out of the black and white design.  I used Tuxedo Black Memento ink on shimmery white card so that I could then use alcohol Stampin' Blends to colour the part of the butterfly on my diet circle.  I then added the larger remaining black and white image to a double layer of Poppy Parade card using Stampin' dimensionals to raise the layer and then added the coloured circle directly onto the red layer to add more depth and define the spotlight.  My card is bigger than the regular C6 card due to ensure that all of the butterflies were on fully on show.  To make the card stand up I then added a normal C6 ie 10.5 x 29.9 cm scored at 14.85cm to the reverse.

I've added a simple sentiment using the 'You are fierce' stamp from the Wild Cats stamp set for the 'You are' and then the amazing layered die from the Amazing Thanks dies.

I used a combo of Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Pale Papaya alcohol markers to colour the spotlight.

Thanks for looking in and have fun visiting the other demonstrators for their designs using this technique.

Keep safe and keep stamping
