And here's the birthday card!

My little girl is growing up fast and so I made her a card with lots of flowers and glitter. I've seen this layout on lots of blogs and it is so lovely I decided to give it a go. I made it in really girly colours and added dazzling diamonds glitter to the flowers and a rhinestone brad. The gorgeous flowers are of course from the great set Petal Pizzazz. The wording I'm sorry is using retired US sets.
Along with the cake, the party and the card she had a great birthday. I'm such a proud Mummy! She loves Stampin'UP! too and wants to be a demo when she grows up along with actress, teacher and mummy......... and these are only this weeks wants!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stamping on other surfaces!!

Last week I bought some moisturiser and other gloop in a vain effort to limit the ageing process (fat chance!!!) and received this bag with my purchase. As it was Olivia's birthday I knew that she would love a girly bag with a big pink bow, but the rest of it was a little dull and so I decided to personalise it and add some Petal Pizzazz. I randomly stamped a few images around her name which was stamped with the Big Deal Alphabet using craft ink which we hope will land in the UK in the autumn. Once dry I heat set it with an iron. I'm glad to say she was delighted with the result and has already filled it with girly stuff, hence the creases when I came to photograph it.
It just shows that stamping doesn't just have to be on cardstock!

Happy Birthday to you!

This weekend sees my parents celebrating their 45th, Sapphire wedding anniversary. Quite an achievement by all accounts and my Dad can be heard at this time of year saying 'I'd have got less for murder!' I've yet to make their card, but the weekend is also my Dad's cousin's birthday and she will be visiting so I've made this card for her. I've made it in line with this week's SWUS

challenge. This week you need to follow the recipe that they have set which includes using

1 x patterned paper

1x flower

1 x button

2x ribbons

I've used the great set from the mini called Petal Pizzazz which is just so easy to use and gives great results no matter what colour you use and it's so much fun and really cheerful for the months ahead. The colours used are rose red, pumpkin pie, old olive and bashful blue in the designer series paper. Remember it's the last few days of the offer to buy 3 packs and get one free!

I've also used occasional greetings for the wording and some felt flowers and the requested button from the rich regals selection. Rose red double stitched and bashful blue taffeta ribbon finish of my ingredients and there's a fun birthday card.

National Scrapbooking Month

May is National Scrapbooking Month and so in honour of it I thought I'd give it go!! I've not scrapped-scrapbooked, not sure what you say even, before and so my efforts may seem odd, primitive or whacky, but we all have to start somewhere and as one of the ladies in one of my techniques clubs is hostess this month and is a scrapbooker I thought it only fair to make this month's session one that she hopefully will enjoy and feel inspired to do lots on a special scrapbook she is putting together for her son.
So here are my initial attempts. Above is a 6x6 layout featuring our beloved pouch who sadly is no more! She was without doubt top dog in this house and very special. I've done a very simple layout using stamp set Petal Pizzazz from the mini with bashful blue to show off her colouring and blue eyes, only orange, real red, old olive and chocolate chip as my colour scheme. I've jazzed it up a little with brads including a rhinestone from the pretties kit. I'm quite pleased with it.
I later got the bit between my teeth and got a little more adventurous. This one could fit in with the Stamp with us colour challenge. I've used the Watercolour Joy standard wheel and white craft ink to emboss a border. I've matted my picture onto two colours and added flowers from Petal Pizzazz (113417 £28.95) once again. The colours are real red, brilliant blue, not quite navy, only orange, yo-yo yellow and green galore. I've added some Planter Box rub-ons (115308 £7.50) to the picture and one small flower to the text bar at the bottom.
I was thrilled with this one and went to show my daughter. 'It's great Mum' she said. 'But I wasn't one in 2006!' Don't ask me why, but I put 2006 instead of 2000. Hence the rather generous ink on the zeros. 'Why not just put a new piece of green card?' I hear you shout. This is where I learnt a lesson. Check everything is correct before you stick it down!
