Christmas Card Club - Stampin' Up! Holly Jolly Greetings

Stampin' Up! Holly Jolly Greetings

It's already our second Christmas Card Club and our challenge is to include a sleigh as requested by our challenger Maureen.

With all the snow in the USA I've got a very topical card having used Stampin' Up! set Holly Jolly Greetings to create a snowy scene with my sleigh added from the retired set  Holiday Home and sentiment from Jingle All The Way.  Holly Jolly Greetings is still available on our carryover list.

You can add my favourite bling with sequins, rhinestones and using the fine tip glue some fine silver glitter to the vellum panel that is over the stamped snowflakes.  You can use washi tape to adhere the vellum, hence getting around the issue of glue showing through and leaving marks you don't really want.

Did you see the panda at the Washington DC Zoo?  We visited him in January last year when we visited friends, but thankfully not in the snow.  Keep safe all caught up in the snow.

Back soon, but in the meantime please do visit the others in our club for more inspiration. Zx

Christmas Card Club - A Christmas Scene

Our challenge this fortnight was set by  Kate and she asked the Christmas Card Club ladies to make a card with a Christmas Scene.   Well  mojo left me on this one, but eventually today I've made this card and whilst I'm thrilled that I worked my Big Shot and Stampin' Up! dies to create a flip image in the middle and some depth, I'm not entirely happy with the card, but I don't want to let my fellow club members down and so here it is.  I've used the retired set Holiday Home and the matching framelits Homemade Holiday and then used marker pens and a blender pen to add colour.  I also embossed some snowflakes and stars from the set with clear embossing powder to make them 'pop' when I used the blender pen to add the sky.  Please do visit the other ladies in our club, who I know will have had lots more success with this challenge.

On a different note. Today we are celebrating our Olivia's birthday. She's sweet 16 today and we are so proud of our lovely daughter.  Bless him, Charlie, made his first ever cake for her and it wasn't a bad attempt by any means and you can see she was thrilled.

Here's wishing you a happy end to your weekend and a fun packed week ahead!

Christmas Card Club - Snowmen

A card for my friend.

Christmas card club today and our challenger Lorraine has asked for snowmen. I have just the one, but he is kinda cute!  I used my new Epic Alphabet stamp set from the annual Stampin' Up! catalogue to stamp 'snow' and turned my cute little snowman from the Holiday Home stamp set to make the 'O'.  The greetings stamp is from Watercolour Winter too and to just get the 'greetings' part of the stamp I used a post it note to block of Season's before stamping.  My pretty snowflakes are from another winter catalogue set called Endless Wishes.  The colour combo is whisper white, real red and pool party.  As you know I love bling and so I"ve added odd rhinestones for the snowflakes and a string and bit of rhinestones to frame my snowman.

Today I'd like to dedicate my card to my lovely friend Emma Daye who very suddenly and sadly passed away on Thursday.  Emma and her hubby Andrew have suffered long and hard from more illness than anyone should have to deal with in one lifetime let alone as a couple.  Emma was a very talented crafter and graphic designer.  She had a smile for everyone and she and Andrew have remained committed to each other and a positive approach throughout their challenging journey together.  Our thoughts are with Andrew and their family at this very sad and difficult time.  You will be missed Emma for your friendship, talent and courage and so much more.  Rest in peace my lovely friend.
