Simply Scored for a challenge!

Not only is this week special nationally, but it's a special week in our house too!  I become the mother of a teenager which is awesome realising that my little girl is going to be 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The traits of a teenager are already emerging, (oh joy!) and the notable distaste for pink!  However when we went to Disneyworld at Easter I was thrilled to see her get this excited about Donald and Daisy Duck.

However the moment of thinking she was still just my little girl disappeared when only Olivia could turn wearing a Padawan, trainee Jedi cloak into a fashion show!!!!!!

And of course the exuberance of pending teenagerdom shone out..........!

In answer to her moving on to things more trendy and the days when Mum just causes embarrassment I have gone for a card with bling factor and hope that it will stand up to the criticism of teenagers! I've also acknowledged that her teenager status is shared with the Jubilee celebrations and so went for a  patriotic colour scheme.

stampin' up! mixed bunch with sparkle and simply scored scoring tool
Coincidentally it's fallen in  with the Less is More challenge of red, white and blue and so the initial version at the top is for them and the lower version is the finished product for my BIG little girl.
Hope you are enjoying your celebrations whatever they maybe..

Less is more - red white and blue

School Jubilee Picnic

Charlie had a school jubilee picnic yesterday and was asked to bring a red, white and blue themed cake/snack for dessert and so I went the whole hog and made a cake for each child in his class and a few more! No there are more than 7 in his class they just wouldn't all fit in my photo cube!! LOL

They did take some carrying to school though with these festive picks included.  You can make your own cake decorations using Stampin' Up! products to any theme you choose.  My crown is from one of my favourite stamp sets Artistic Etchings.  It's a favourite for two reasons;  I love all the stamps in the set they are so fun and with the Eiffel Tower included you can make male and female cards with this set. The second reason is I won it in prize patrol at convention in Paris last year which you can attend as a demonstrator.

Stamped in night of navy on whisper white cardstock and matted onto a real red scallop circle you can't help, but be a patriotic winner!  Of course it also lets me add my bling as rhinetones work perfectly for the DIAMOND jubilee as well as being a girls best friend!

Have a wonderful Jubilee weekend.
