Christmas Card Club - Stampin' Up! Sassy Salutations

Stampin' Up! Perfect Blend and Sassy Salutations

Well it's my turn at Christmas Card Club and months ago when I set the challenge to use
  1. 3 brads
  2. 1 button
  3. ribbon
  4. one other embellishment
I thought it sounded like a good challenge, but never really gave it much thought or planning than that! The day has come and well it's not an easy challenge and although it sounded good at the time of publishing it's not been good, but I'm sure when I visit my fellow club members they will have excelled as usual and all made stunning cards!  I've gone for simple in the end and nipped back to my Perfect Blend stamp set.  This card is a take also on my swap for the Stampin' Up! UK regional training day that I attended yesterday.  What a fab day surrounded by fun folk, who craft and lots of ideas and tips.  We also got sneak peeks from the new annual catalogue and the chance to see the new in colours in real life. What more could a gal want!!!!

So on my card I've used real red, old olive, basic black and crumb cake inks.  I've used the paper piecing technique to add colour and dimension to my Christmas coffee cup i.e.  you stamp the image firstly on whisper white card stock and then here I stamped on designer series paper from the brights stack.  I then carefully cut out the piece I wanted to make it appear to have a band around the cup.

My challenge features are the retired brads up in the top left corner, my silver ribbon and my button with the extra embellishment of a rhinestone, you just know I had to have bling in there somewhere!

Today I'm at the Sincerely Yours Craft Show at Newark Showground.  Be sure to pop by and say hello!  Enjoy your weekend and back soon. Zx

Christmas Card Club - A Perfect Blend

Stampin Up Happy Hour Perfect Blend and That's the Ticket

It's time for another Christmas Card Club Challenge and we've been set the task of using black and white with one other colour.  I chose silver and have also gone off the traditional route using my Perfect Blend stamp set for a different theme.  My hint of Christmas is a bit of holly from the Happy Hour Stamp Set.  You can turn the coffee cup or I'd like to think mulled wine cup! into any shade using paper piecing to alter the insulating band.  Just stamp your image twice on the desired paper or card stock and carefully cut out the right pieces to piece your picture together.  Sometimes you may find it better to cut inside the stamped outline and sometimes as with this one it's nice to include all the detail of the stamp.  You'll probably need to click on my pic to enlarge it to see that detail mind.

A simple sentiment stamped in black Staz-on ink onto silver foil card stock along with some bunting made using the banner punch you may have seen during our Sale-a-bration promotion.  Worry not if you missed it as it's coming back in our new annual catalogue in July.  If you cut your paper to the same width as the punch you can slip it into just part of the punch so that you can punch the banner but then choose how long you want each banner to be and hence you'll see my two lengths.

Remember there are lots of ladies in our club and you can visit them for more Christmas inspiration.  Why not start with visiting Karen our challenger!

As an afterthought I added some doodles with a Stampin' Up! UK chalk marker for a slightly different look!
Until next time be happy!
