Stampin' Up! Love You Sew - Mojo Monday #432

There's a new reward set in the Stampin' Up! spring catalogue that is 'sew' cute and I used it yesterday to make a card using the sketch from mojo monday's challenge.  The stamp set is called Love You Sew and as you can see below it has lots of lovely sewing stamps.

I made a mock sewing sampler using the stamps from the set and used some buttons from my stash adding a little whisper white bakers twine and adhering them with glue dots.

I also added my matting layer of vellum and banners from the Love Blossoms designer series paper stack and attached them using my sewing machine. Something I've had on my list of things to do for a long time.  Looks good if I say so myself. I suspect my sewing machine my have a different opinion though.

To add the final touch for the sketch I stamped some cotton reels and to one added some more bakers twine. A pair of snips and it was done.  If you like the colours you'll want to know that I used rose red, crumb cake, soft suede and of course whisper white.

Love this stamp set then you can get your hands on it when you place a qualifying order or host a qualifying stamping party with me.  To shop online please visit my stampin up online shop and use the hostess code in my sidebar when you spend £25 up to £150 to receive a thank you gift from me next month.

Why not try out the sketch below yourself and share your pictures with and I'll post them here.

Join Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! sends out a bi-monthly newsletter to all its demonstrators across the world and it is packed full of crafting tips and ideas for projects. When I saw this card featured in our most recent magazine I couldn't resist making one myself to share with you.

Believe it or not the background is a piece of designer series paper from the 6 x 6" stack called Go Wild.  It's a good stack for those who suffer with the paper stroking disease as each sheet is repeated 4 times and at this size you can be brave and use at least one from each design and still have plenty to stroke!  The stunning rose is fussy cut from one of the sheets in the designer series paper pack called Birthday Bouquet along with the small blue flowers.  Just like my snow card yesterday I've used the fine tip glue to add small 'controlled' dots of glue and then sprinkled with fine glitter for a delicate touch of bling along with some gold thread.  The bold banner in watermelon wonder is enhanced with a little tone on tone stamping using the new Timeless Textures stamp set and the sentiment could be yours for free as part of the Botanicals for You saleabration stamp set.  Free when you order £45 of Stampin' Up! Stash from me.

Did you notice the little bit of detail at either end of the sentiment?  You can create little details like this by slipping your card stock in from above your punch rather than in it to just cut the part you want.  Here I used the washi punch and it just defines the end of that strip.

Hope your week has started out well.
Hugs Zx

Christmas Card Club - Stampin' Up! Holly Jolly Greetings

Stampin' Up! Holly Jolly Greetings

It's already our second Christmas Card Club and our challenge is to include a sleigh as requested by our challenger Maureen.

With all the snow in the USA I've got a very topical card having used Stampin' Up! set Holly Jolly Greetings to create a snowy scene with my sleigh added from the retired set  Holiday Home and sentiment from Jingle All The Way.  Holly Jolly Greetings is still available on our carryover list.

You can add my favourite bling with sequins, rhinestones and using the fine tip glue some fine silver glitter to the vellum panel that is over the stamped snowflakes.  You can use washi tape to adhere the vellum, hence getting around the issue of glue showing through and leaving marks you don't really want.

Did you see the panda at the Washington DC Zoo?  We visited him in January last year when we visited friends, but thankfully not in the snow.  Keep safe all caught up in the snow.

Back soon, but in the meantime please do visit the others in our club for more inspiration. Zx

Stampin' Up! The Sky is the Limit

I am just loving the new Stampin' Up! Saleabration free gifts this year.  Sky is the Limit is one of my favourites and it is proving to be one of your favourites too!  This aeroplane no matter where you put it on your projects just looks 3D and like it is flying right off the card at you.  Teamed with the World Traveler embossing folder from the spring catalogue there really is no limit to the number of cards you can make for the guys!

What is even better about this stamp set is that you can get it free through our annual Stampin' Up! Saleabration promotion.  See the details on my Stampin' Offers page.

You can also join in with the embossing (wet or dry) challenge we have at Moving along with the Times, MAWTT.  Use an embossing folder or maybe try out some heat embossing with your versa mark pad and powders.  Go check out the other DT cards and some of the entries already coming in for inspiration.

Christmas Card Club - Christmas Food

A new year it may be, but Christmas card making for our club challenges do not.  However the challenge set by Margaret our lovely organiser, is one that has challenged me today.  I don't have any Christmas Food stamps and so my trusty friend punch art has saved the day.

I love turkey at Christmas, but then I'm a bit of a traditionalist and our turkey usually comes from Field Farm Organics locally and cooked slowly overnight in the Aga is always delicious.

This card also reminded me of when our cheeky Border Collie stole what was left of our turkey on Boxing Day morning a couple of years ago.  Olivia caught him dragging the serving plate down the hall with the turkey on top neatly wrapped in tin foil.   Caught just in time me thinks!

The turkey is punched using the Stampin' Up! bird punch and I fashioned a cooking tin with silver foil card and made a table for it to sit on.   The window is in two layers.  I cut two matting layers one to be the backdrop for the scene which I cut just a rectangle out of the size of the inner window frame.  The second layer was smaller and I cut the whole frame out.  Before cutting I embossed both pieces using the Hardwood embossing folder, but inked it on one side with my brayer before putting it through the Big Shot just to add some toning.

A sprig of holly from some tag toppers I bought in the M&S a year ago and a simple sentiment and Christmas food is on the table.

Please do pop by the other ladies blogs in our group for lots more styles and inspiration on Christmas Food.

Stampin' Up! Number of Years

 HAPPY NEW YEAR

Stampin' Up! has launched it's new Spring Summer catalogue along with this year's Saleabration brochure jammed packed with some fabulous free gifts.

I took Christmas and New Year off to spend some precious time with family. My brother and his family joined us for Christmas and their small children brought the excitement of the season with them and we all had a fabulous time.  Since their departure our fridge has died and it has taken some time to try to find firstly a repair man to confirm the fridge's death and then to source a new fridge. At last one is in sight!  This card was my only chance of crafting over the holidays and so read on to find out more about it and the new catalogues that launched this week.

Included in the Spring catalogue is this super stamp set Number of Years which has a coordinating set of frame lit dies called simply Large Numbers.  I used them to make this girly card for my school friend who turned the big 50 on New Year's Eve.  She celebrated in style taking her children to New York to see the sights and see in the new year.  Having been friends for almost 40 years I couldn't miss the opportunity to send her a special message.

You can use blushing bride, whisper white and smoky slate to create a pretty card with this lovely bundle of products.  A hint of silver foil card stock and a touch of the new blushing bride glimmer paper satisfies the need for bling, but my the glimmer paper is truly strokeable!  All stamps used are from Number of Years with the exception of the sentiment which is from Stampin' Up! set Something to Say.

Check out the new catalogue via my sidebar and also the Saleabration offering and see how you can benefit from shopping, hosting or maybe joining.  I love my job and although dithered for ages before I joined I haven't looked back having developed a fantastic team with folk from the UK and The Netherlands, but also friends around the Globe.  Take a small step, buy a starter kit and gain much more.
