A touch of red!

stampin up demonstrator zoe tant

Thanks for stopping by to see me and if you're on the ILWS blog hop a particular welcome and please scroll down to see my blog hop projects and find the link to the next step.

Over at Less is more today they've set a colour challenge of 'a touch of red'.  I so wanted to use this stamp, Motorcycle, when they had their masculine card challenge, but it was before the launch of the Stampin' Up !summer mini and so I was not allowed.  However today it's worked out well and now I can share it with you.  I've used cherry cobbler marker and cardstock for my touch of red and have added crystal effects with the tip of the paper piercer to give my motorcycle shine!  The image itself is stamped with Staz on to stop any bleeding with the crystal effects.

I also wanted to do one for the girls and this is so simple but striking.  I love Pocket Silhouettes as it's so easy to use. You can stamp it anywhere and it looks great. It's a fab set for beginners as you can't really go wrong.  My touch of red is real red grosgrain ribbon and a little reverse stamping inside.  On the cover the flowers are embossed in white using our craft whisper white ink pad.
There will be more MINI tasters with 4 ILWS blog hops where demos will be sharing with you some fabulous projects made with stash from the new mini. Why not take a peak! You can start with the post below.

Have a great weekend and I'll be back soon with more mini heaven.

Love is in the air!

Valentine's Day looms on the horizon and so I've had a play today and made this vintage style valentine card.  Artistic Etchings mingles with En Francais and the Sale-a-bration set Bliss, along with a handful of love hearts. I've used a chipboard A and coloured and glossed it with crystal effects and the Eiffel Tower is stamped on rose red card and then embossed three times to give it an enamel type effect.  There's the inevitable 'smudging' and some hand torn edges to add to the vintage look.  I'm not really sure about this one, but the home vote is it's a keeper so I'll leave it with you to comment.
It's been a bit of a crazy day with one of my technique clubs, kids here and there and in particular Olivia is in her first night of panto - Little Miss Muffet - tonight so I've become a make up artist and hairdresser for the last half hour and then taxi for both her and Charlie; nothing new there then!
Now it's time to hit the road for a parish council meeting  and the sofa beckons on my return.  Hope your evening promises to be more exciting.
Come back soon.

Dreamy Signs

zoe tant stampin up demonstrator

I forgot that I hadn't shared this cute sign with you which is made with a miriad of products some of which are now retired, but it's nonetheless a fun item and appeals to young and old although Olivia has had her eye on it!  Lots of lovely ribbons and beads from the pretties kit adorn this sign and I also made some beads and buttons myself to get the colour that I wanted.  To make the buttons all you need is a circle punch, crystal effects, cardstock and a cropadile.  Punch out half a dozen circles and stick them together either with crystal effects or TOMBOW or TOMBOY as one of my lovely ladies renamed it at a class this week!  Once dry you can punch holes through using the cropadile and then if you choose you can glaze with crystal effects.  It isn't a quick accent as it takes time to dry, but they can be all shapes and sizes if you choose.

Here I made a fan to show off the pretty DSP that we had in last years mini.  It was from the paper stack which is retired, but now we have all those fabulous paper stacks in all the colour collections including the in-colours and if you buy 3 you can choose a free stamp set.

The rhinestone brads look fab wherever you use them and here they fit just perfectly with the Fleurettes, which are not our cheapest accent, but can be used for papercraft, sewing and jewellery projects.  I also made my own beads in a similar way to the buttons. Take long tapering strips of DSP and roll them from the widest end and stick at the end with a little TOMBOY! Then slip them onto a bamboo skewer and paint them with several coats of crystal effects to glaze and harden them.  Be sure to let them dry between each coat.

A little bit of 'smudging', technical term distressing just softens the edges and makes it a really dreamy project.  Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's really cold here today so I'm off for a cuppa to warm up before I set to on more chores.
Thanks for stopping by.....
