Christmas Card Club - Cute Foxy Friends

Lovely Sylvie is our hostess at Christmas Card Club this fortnight and she set us the challenge of a cute Christmas card.  I couldn't resist a little punch art for this one and my new Foxy Friends stamps and punch worked their magic and we have this cute trio all dressed ready for Christmas celebrations.

All three are created with the fox builder punch except the rabbits ears which started life as part of the bow builder punch and a little bit of freehand fussy cutting.  My festive accompaniments are from Snow Place and sentiment from Oh What Fun.  I'm also liking the new Classic Label punch which arrived with my UPS man this week.

A bold statement background works well I think with these cute characters and it is just a piece of designer series paper from the Pop of Pink pack.  No pink here today though!

Also to add a little bit of different coloured fur to the European Badger featured I have used white craft ink and stamped with the large paint brush mark from Painter's Palette.

Please do visit the other ladies in our club who all have a cute card to share and different inspiration for you.

Happy Sunday.  Zx

Christmas Card Club - Snowy Trees

It really does seem odd that I'm posting a Christmas card today when the sky is beautifully blue, the birds are singing and the spring flowers are bobbing gently in the breeze.  It's also my 50th birthday and so it's been a slow relaxing start. However it is Christmas card challenge and the theme of Snowy Trees was set by Christine who is also my teamie over at MAWTT.

I've case'd a card today from Tamara Bertram, but added a couple of my own touches including some of the new Stampin' Up! copper embossing powder which is just divine. I absolutely love it and you can see from my previous Stampin' Sneak Peek post that it is going to feature in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue more than once.

I've also used the large pine tree from Lovely as a Tree stamp set, the timeless classic set that so many of you adore, along with splatters from Timeless Textures.  I made a mask using a piece of copier paper and cut a rectangle from the centre using my Stampin' Trimmer.  Sponges work really well to add colour in gentle layers to build up a background in tip top taupe and the spatters and other texturing stamping was added in sahara sand ink.  I love the that the sentiment says 'Happy' and doesn't it look great in copper. It's a stamp from Oh What Fun which has carried over from the last AW catalogue.

You might have also noticed the gorgeous shade of blue card and ink.  It's called Dapper Denim and is one of the new 5 in colours arriving soon.  It's going to be great for masculine cards.

Wishing you a happy Sunday and week ahead and please wear a smile for the week to help me celebrate my half century.

More soon. Zx

Christmas Card Club - Post Box

I got all mixed up with Christmas Card Club and missed a couple, but I'm hopefully back on track now with this one which was set by Valery who asked us to feature a post box.  I went for the punch art option and a very clean and simple card.

I used some Stampin' Up! dazzling diamonds glimmer paper along the bottom to give some depth and distance between the trees and and my punch art post box and as you know I love a bit of bling.  The trees are from the popular Sleigh Ride Edgelits and with the fine tip glue pen (I'm lovin' this new glue from the winter catty) I've added some dazzling diamonds glitter to the trees to make them look like they have tinsel adorning them.  If you like the Stampin' Up! Sleigh Ride Edgelit dies you can see another example and the other dies in the set on my earlier Christmas Card Club post.

Sentiment is from Oh What Fun, which you will have seen a taste of in my earlier post featuring the MAWTT challenge card.

Travelling home today from Brussels so look out soon for some sneak peeks as we are due to get our hands on the new Spring/Summer catalogue and maybe a treat to play with so watch this space.

Have a good Sunday.

Christmas Wrap over at MAWTT

It's time for another challenge at MAWTT and it's a theme of anything listed in the song from The Sound of Music - Raindrops on Roses etc etc.......

I went for the brown paper packaging tied up with string to gift wrap a parcel in the vein of Jane Means, the gift wrap guru, with a co-ordinating card made using Stampin' Up! set Your Presents which is great for building piles of gifts either for Christmas or birthdays.  It's a super set for the 'kissing' technique.

My sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! winter catalogue set Oh , What Fun which co-ordinates with the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit.   Some baker's twine and linen thread and you have all the makings of brown paper packages tied up with 'posh' string.

Step over to the challenge and take a look at the other design team inspiration before you have a go at the challenge.

Meanwhile today I'm at day one of the Stampin' Up! European Onstage Live event in Brussels with some of my lovely team The Tantalizing Stampers.  If you'd like to attend fun events like this and love Stampin' Up! why not contact me to find out about joining the team.

Have a great day!

A first for me!

I'm very chuffed as I was recently selected to be on one of the design teams over at Moving Along with the Times Challenge Blog (MAWTT) and so today I'm sharing my first DT entry for a challenge set by Janice.  The theme for the challenge is Hats and Scarves and my thoughts went instantly to snowmen and reminded me of a card I saw on Pinterest which had just eyes and noses for a snowman so I've taken it a step further and added 'hats and scarves' and of course happy smiles.

I've added Home for Christmas enamel dots to the pom poms and a touch of designer series paper from the new designs in the Stampin' Up! paper stacks to really set off my jolly snow faces.  The stamps are from a retired set, which thankfully I hadn't parted with as Olivia, my daughter, and I thought we had. The gorgeous 'Jolly' is from the Stampin' Up! set called Oh, What Fun in the new Autumn/Winter catalogue.

Please do visit MAWTT and take a look at the inspiration from the other designers and also join in the challenge to share your inspiration too.

Thank you for popping by and I'll be back soon with more challenge entries.
