Summer Silhouettes great for Stampin' Card Club

This is a make from this month's card club.  It was really popular and we all decided that it would be great in any combo of colours to suit the occasion for which it is meant. A sentiment could easily be added and so everyone decided it would be a good one to put in their Tin of Cards ready to be sentimented! when needed.

I choose the combo having seen another challenge over at TGIF challenges where pool party, basic grey and daffodil delight was the combo offered in their weekly colour challenge.  I chose the stamp set as it was on offer last week and was a great opportunity for folk to try it out before they purchased it at a discount. We all like a bargain after all!

You can check out this weeks new deals below! I'm delighted with them as I've had my eye on the stamp set 'And Many More' for a while and it will save me £s. Remember you can order these or other products from my Stampin' Up! UK online shop any time of day or night and if you spend £25 or more and add my August Stampin Rewards code you'll receive a bonus gift from me early next month.  The code is in the top right sidebar.

More soon. Zx

More congrats with Stampin' Up! Spiral Border Punch!

Stampin' Up! UK Summer Silhouettes
Ooops this should have been on show to you last week!! I've been so busy with Stampin' Up!, South Hill Designs UK and life.
We did a trip to Sheffield to do a bit of shopping and look what someone found for his Santa sack!

I shared a congrats card with you last Tuesday explaining that two of my good friends have been celebrating success recently. This is the second card I made and promised to share with you.

Although it isn't summer anymore the stamp set Summer Silhouettes is too pretty to hide away on your stamp shelf and so I've used it to make this card.  I've also used the new, back by popular demand Spiral Border punch.  If you missed it last time it was in the catalogue now is your chance to buy it at a sensible price rather than run the risk of paying out over the odds on auction sites. You can buy it brand new from my Stampin' Up! UK online shop.

Back soon to share another project. Zx

Stampin' Up! Happy Watercolour and more!

At card club recently I shared a type of emboss resist technique with my lovely ladies.  We used the spring catalogue stamp set Happy Watercolour to stamp in versamark on watercolour paper and then heat emboss it with clear powder.  You can then add colour washes with your aqua painters and ink pools created in the lid of your ink pads and a little more stamping using other stamps from the set along with stamps from Summer Silhouettes, Wetlands, Simply Sketched ( hostess set) and Gorgeous Grunge.

You can then mount your finished artwork on basic black card stock and onto naturals ivory card stock for the base card.  A sentiment from the ever useful and popular stamp set Perfectly Penned provides you with a striking card.

Now I'm not a colourer inner or a watercolourist, but this technique allows you to get the satisfaction of looking like you might be one day!!  I've done a similar one in different colours which once mounted and finished I will share.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Boutique Blossom - Single Stamp from Stampin' Up!

You might have noticed in my sidebar the information about Single Stamps.  This gorgeous flower stamp is one of that very group. It's called Boutique Blossom and is available as a clear mount stamp until 31 August.  It's a mainly solid stamp and so it's great for trying out the rock and roll technique.
ROCK AND ROLL TECHNIQUE
  • Choose two co-ordinating colours.
  • Ink your stamp in the lighter of two colours.
  • Roll the edges of the stamp on the darker of your two chosen colours.
  • Stamp your image to obtain a two-tone image.
I used Elegant Eggplant and the soon to arrive C...... C..... for this example and I also added some Elegant Eggplant spots to the centre of the flower with a marker pen.  You'll also notice the embossing folder is new!  But you'll find out more about that in due course!  The border is stamped with the border stamp from Summer Silhouettes and punched with the scallop trim border punch.  A pleated doily, faceted button and whisper white bakers twine along with a spot of dazzling details (no matter how many times I took a picture of this card I just couldn't get the glitter detail or stop the whisper white glare so just believe me....!) add the embellishments and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments with my new word window punch. Why new? Well those of you who know my craftroom now that it is a work in progress site 24/7 and so the old one........well it will live again one day I'm sure!!!

Neutral Splendour of Summer Silhouettes

The countdown is on for the end of this year's Sale a bration promotion.  I will be submitting an order on Friday the last day for anyone still hoping to take up this amazing offer.  To benefit from this promotion you need to submit an order of £45 and you can choose a free gift from one of those detailed on my stampin' up! sale a bration page.
Let me have your order by 7pm on Friday and you can benefit from free shipping if you collect your order and will also gain a bonus gift from me.  Contact me by phone, email or facebook to place your order or with any questions.

One free stamp set that you might like to choose is Vintage Verses which provided the sentiment for the simple card above. I've done a little bit of collage stamping using the Summer Silhouettes and Papillion Potpourri stamp sets.  Don't you just love the mix of neutral shades on a whisper white notecard.  Vellum cardstock adds more texture and is so good to use with the butterflies for soft and gentle depth.
I also promised I'd let folk see the bookmarks that Horncastle Cubs made for their mums for Mother's Day. Here's my Charlie with his fellow cub Ellie-Mae showing theirs.

I've been quite proud of myself avoiding all the bugs since before Christmas but finally I've succumbed to a nasty cold. Hope you are well wherever you are.

Happy crafting

Coffee and Crop

Recently I've joined a scrapbooking crop which is great because not only am I finally getting into the swing of scrapping, I'm making new friends, having fun and best of all reliving some wonderful memories as a put together scrapbook pages.

Coffee and Crop is run by Sue who raises money for the Children's Society by running the group. She sets a challenge each month for us with the only rule being you need to use the word she chooses in the title of your page. This month the word is 'Friendship' and it's the first time I've been organised enough to do some prep to get my page made.

It's an easy word to find lots of photos for, but I've chosen this one of Olivia with her friend Maggie as they have a very special friendship. They see each other once in a blue moon and can pick up where they off and have always got on so well. We'll share special times with Maggie and her family when we soon visit the Bayeaux Tapestry and Mont St Michael and this will be the first time in 12 months since we've seen them apart from Skype calls. More friendship photos will ensue I'm sure.

Scrapping is getting less scary and more and more fun! Especially when you can revisit special times.

For my page I've used some papers from the Spring Mini called Sunshine and Sprinkles and also stamped and daubed my background using fun bright colours of melon mambo, daffodil delight and lucky limeade. I used Stampin' Up! s summer silhouettes set for the daffodil delight stamping.

Quick Tip Time
If you like the stencilled border that is very easy to achieve. You gently place some delicate details lace tape from the Spring mini onto your project and use a sponge to add colour direct from your ink pad. Carefully peel the lace tape off and you can put it back on it's backing tape. It's slightly plasticised so you can also use a baby wipe to remove the excess colour for it's next use or indeed for when you finally choose to adhere strips to another project.

If you haven't tried scrapbooking I wholeheartedly recommend it. So often now we download our photos to a computer and rarely see them again. Print off the best and scrapbook them for generations to come adding journalling hidden or open to let your future generations know who did what and when. My journalling here is using the Stampin' Up! two tags die and it slides in under the photo.

I hope to share more scrapping soon. Zx
