Cardmaking Babywipe tutorial for Totally Techniques Blog Hop

handmade card using the baby wipe technique with Hooray for surprises stamp set and dies

Oh my it's been a long while since I blogged. Sadly we had a very close family member pass away just before Christmas and it has taken time to come to terms with and move forward.  Thanks for your patience.

However I'm back and now joining the Totally Techniques Global Stampin' Up! demonstrator blog hop. We are sharing tips and ideas for using the baby wipe technique in different ways.  I created the back ground of the card above, the flowers and the leaves by using a baby wipe.

Once you have created your scrunched baby wipe backgrounds you can die cut the sheets or cut to suit your needs for your card background.  If you make your own ink pad you can then stamp and die cut lots of images and save them for other cards.  The ink pad you create will last for several stamps! Be aware that the ink will continue to bleed across the wipe and will eventually not be a nice colour so you'll need to dispense with it then responsibly.  Wash out your stamp case and keep for another technique or to repeat this one another day.

This is my second card which as you will see in the video I stamped the background and then added flowers and foliage along with gems and sentiment.  I used the Hooray for Surprises stamps and dies to stamp pretty flowers and then die cut them and also the leaves.

I hope you have fun having a go at this technique and that you will also continue on the blog hop for more ideas.

thanks for popping by and come back soon.

Joseph's Coat Technique for cardmaking

example of Joseph's Coat technique with stampin up

Welcome everyone and sorry I've been somewhat preoccupied with family issues recently so have missed a couple of our lovely Totally Techniques Team blog hops, but back tonight with the team sharing Joseph's  Coat Technique.  This is a fun way to play with ink.  It's not difficult, but can get a little messy when you add some of the ink, but it has wow results and you can use lots of different colour combinations.  There are also different ways you can approach this technique, but here is my take on it.

Once you have created your Jacob's Coat you can use the whole design to make it a decorative layer for a card and add sentiments, dry embossed strips, ribbon and die cuts along with embellishments like the bee.

On this version of the technique I also used water droplets to create bleach spots and also added some Wink of Stella for some added interest and sparkle.  I've also added some gold foil card die cuts and an embossed strip of real red card and a die cut sentiment using the Stylish Stems stamp set and dies.

I created a very simple version also using the Lovely You stamp set and the same colours as above.

Paper Piecing Technique for the Totally Techniques Blog Hop

Paper piecing tutorial oceanfront stamp set with Count on Me

Welcome to the June Totally Techniques Blog Hop with international Stampin' Up! demonstrators across the globe.  We are sharing the Paper Piecing Technique this month and showing you how to paper piece and ideas for using the technique.

For my card I've paper pieced this super cute bear from stamp set Count on Me to add swim shorts and a hat, inflatable, towel whatever you see it as. I drew on the goggles to make him swim ready.
Start by stamping your image onto offcuts of DSP ( designer series paper/patterned paper).  If you have scraps of paper then you only need a piece big enough for the area of the image you want to use.

In my case it was his bottom!

You can then cut the image out with scissors and leave some of the outline as on this occasion it helps to have the outline.  Then cut the part of the image you actually want to use. As I wanted shorts I cut off his feet and part of his back.

I used the same process for the hat.  I also stamped the bear on white card so that I could colour him and then add the clothing.  I fussy cut out the whole image and also stamped the image onto my design to pick out some of the 'furry' sections.  Having left part of the outline, on the paper piecing it just highlights the outline and gives a little more depth.

Using the Oceanfront stamp set I created a beach scene and used masking paper to mask a sun and then used a blending brush to add colour through the mask I created.

A simple sentiment from Art Gallery stamp set finished my design. Although it took a little time this is fundamentally a #SimpleStamping card with just stamps ink and paper.

A card perfect for children or grownups and this summery time of year in the northern hemisphere.

Enjoy the hop, but don't forget to check out the Last Chance List for a bargain and our kits which are buy one get one half price in June.

Keep stamping and keep safe

Totally Techniques Blog Hop - Stamping with acrylic blocks

handmade thank you card ideas using acrylic blocks for stamping and dies all from stampin up zoe tant uk

Hi everyone,

Have you enjoyed the sunshine this past week?  It's been so nice to see the spring here for a while and we snuck in a few days away to see Charlie at Uni and also house hunt for Liv as she starts a new job down south very soon.  A lovely break if only short.

My share tonight is this month's Totally Techniques International Demonstrator Blog Hop and we've got some fab ideas for you using acrylic blocks to stamp with and create a design.

For my card I used this technique very simply by using different size stamping blocks and shades of blue to create an abstract pattern on my die cut tag and then just added a touch of gold by embossing some flowers and colouring them in with white pigment ink.  The gently watered down ink sunk into the blues underneath allowing the stamped shapes to softly still show.  I also added some ink splattering using the same ink and a water brush.

An embossed background layer adds texture and I added another tag for more detail along with gathered ribbon and a die cut sentiment.  I love the gold top lettering on the navy background layer for the thanks created using the Amazing Thanks dies.

how to do it

To stamp with the blocks just tap tap tap the block on your ink pad and use a spritzer to lightly spray over the inked block with water before using it like any other stamp. Create using a large block to add a background for a stamped image on top or use smaller blocks like me to create your own pattern and then add sentiment and possibly stamped images.  You can also stamp without spritzing for a slightly different finish.  The possibilities are endless as you will see on the hop.

Thanks for visiting and see you again soon. Now head off to enjoy the hop or leave a comment first with any questions before heading out.

Happy weekend.
