Peace to You at Christmas - Stampin' for Christmas Blog Hop

Peace to you stamp set for christmas card ideas

It's been a while since I join this fun blog hop so welcome to my blog and happy countdown to the festive season.

Today I'm sharing a simple card made using the beautiful stamp set Peace to You.  Peace to all is what we all hope for I'm sure.

To create the card I have stamped the church image onto basic grey card and heat embossed in white.  I used the stitched rectangle dies to cut out the image and added faux red linen ribbon, bakers twine and a flat jingle bell to showcase the simple sentiment.  This card was very popular at my Christmas card buffet.

It is easily reproducible so a great one for lots of makes to send out for Christmas.  The stamp set will retire very soon and is available on the last chance list.

I'm also sharing this fun little Robin handmade Christmas card.  For this design I used the Songbird builder punch to create a Robin using kraft card with sponging and a red card for his distinctive red breast.  I've then used the Sweet Songbird stamp set to stamp the branches, musical notes and his feet so that I could then stamp with the holly and berries from the Christmas Banners stamp set retiring soon and reduced in the winter sale.

This card is easy to make too and requires a little punching with the Songbird punch and then simple stamping.  To create a little detail on the Robin you can use a sponge dauber or blending brush to add a darker shade to the kraft card. I punched the beak out of early espresso card, but you could blend onto the kraft card for this too.

Use up those papers that we all hoard to add a pretty background matt layer.

Enjoy the hop and check out the Stampin' Up! sale where there are discounts of up to 60% on stamps and dies.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great December.

Christmas Robin layered card.

happy-holly days stamp set robin stamp christmas card

I've been busy this past week preparing and having a stand at a Papercraft Show which was a fun day yesterday.  It means I've had little time to make cards for blog posts and not only that, I don't have any bell stamps which is our theme for Christmas Card Club today.  However we have a let out of anything goes when you don't have the stamps and therefore I'm sharing a card a made a little while ago. It was inspired by the lovely Martine Smith if you know her. She used a different Robin and scaled it all slightly differently, but I've done my take on her original.

On a piece of white card I stamped the Robin in memento ink and then added some grey using Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers) to the bird and also Poppy Parade to the holly berries and the simple combo has worked well with the flashes of colour.  Additional colour can be added using a stamp similar to the dotty one I've used and of course a bit of silver heat embossing coordinates and adds Christmas shine.   Once coloured I used my trusty Stitched Shape dies, sadly retired from Stampin' Up! to cut two squares from the image.  Now if you have a go be sure to position the dies so that you don't cut through a vital piece of the image like the eye for example as it could distort your image too much.

I added a black matt layer to the white card base and then positioned all the stamped pieces adding stampin' dimensional to the squares.  To create the pyramid effect I added double layered dimensional to the smaller square.  Carefully match up your image as you replace the squares.

Robins are so popular for Christmas and I love this one.

PS if you missed out on the Stitched Shape dies I have a brand new spare set for sale. Please contact me if you would like them.

Happy stamping all and keep safe.

To make the sour cream container I stamped tone on tone onto red card and then added tear and tape to three  connected sides of the card.  Roll the card into a tube and adhere with one side of the tear and tape.  Then peel off the backing on one other side and gently squeeze the sides together.  Do the same to the other end of the tube, but squeeze the sides in the opposite direction to the other end.  Of course one important thing to remember is to add your gift before you seal the second end.

I decorated my container with DSP from the host pack Pattern Play, die cut circles and some stamped and fussy cut holly from the Happy Holly-days stamp set which I coloured with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.  The card coordinates and the sentiment is not actually upside down, just photographed in haste.  As a wise old man said to me as a young child ''More haste less speed!"

Have a great night and do join our MAWTT challenge HERE

Thanks for stopping by.

Keep stamping and keep safe

How do I do the White Wash technique?

It's Totally Techniques international Stampin' Up! Demonstrator blog hop again and Nadine chose our theme of the White Wash Technique.  I've created a neutrals card and very simple although did take a little bit of time......

I started by stamping the holly leaves and berries from Stampin' Up! set Christmas Gleaming in crumb cake ink onto a thick white card base.  Next I white heat embossed the Holly, berries and swirly frame onto a piece of crumb cake card.  Now it's time for white wash.  Using a pigment ink, mine was Stampin' Up! craft white,  I used some re inker to put ink onto a clear block and watered it down by letting my aqua painter brush drip some water onto the ink.  I then painted the holly and berries with a white wash.  You need to make sure you let it dry before coming back to add some colour using your aqua painter and ink from your ink pad lids.

With the Happy Christmas I die cut the words first then white washed them all over, allowed them to dry again and then added colour to  either the top or bottom of the letters and then in reverse added Wink of Stella, it's for Christmas after all!!

Before sticking the words onto my project I used a sponge to add some colour around the outside edges of the piece of crumb cake card helping to make the frame and holly 'pop'.

With glue gots I carefully added the sentiment once it was completely dry.  As I said it is a simple technique but does need drying time which you could speed up with a heat gun if you wished.  One reason for making sure it is dry is trying to avoid things like the holly berries not turning out to be pink instead of red.  You can of course add less colour for even more delicate shades.

You'll get lots more inspiration by clicking on the links below to see the other demonstrators takes on this challenge.  Either click each button and return here or go from blog to blog by clicking the next image on the next demonstrators blog.  Enjoy our hop and projects and have a go yourself soon at this effective technique.

Thanks for visiting and remember you can buy all the products used  at www.zoetant.stampinup.net

Enjoy the hop
