Kids cards for the New at SU blog hop
I'm finally back on track and able to join my first in a while New at SU blog hop. We are sharing handmade cards for kids. Mine is created using the fun Supremely Awesome stamp set from the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue on page 80. If you like my daughter 'LOVE PIZZA!' this is the stamp set for you.
This is the perfect stamp set to create party invitations with too. I stamped mini pizza sliced tone on tone onto the red background and then die cut two lots of yellow DSP so that I could mix and match the paper designs. The Patchwork Pieces dies make this easy to do and to make it easy to secure them a little spaced out I glued the tip of each piece onto a punched circle for ease of adding to my card.
I used the Alpabest stamp set to create the 'party' part of my sentiment and pizza is part of the Supremely Awesome set and just needs some masking to get the part you want.
I stamped and coloured the pizza man using alcohol markers aka Stampin' Blends and used Lost Lagoon, Daffodil Delight, Bronze, Cherry Cobbler, Pebbled Path, Copper Clay and Sweet Sorbet. It's easy to fussy cut this fun image and pop him onto the starburst. This would be such a fun way to invite kids to a birthday party.
Enjoy the hop and lots of ideas for kids handmade cards.

Faux Silk Technique - Stampin' Up! Totally Techniques Blog Hop
This technique can be done in a couple of ways but the way I've chosen to share with you today is really easy and fun.
Here's how to do this simple technique
- Cut a rectangle of DSP that is just bigger than your die and a piece of tissue paper that is then about 1 to 2 cm (1") bigger than the DSP.
- Smear multipurpose adhesive (Tombow) across a silicon mat and then carefully drag the right side of the DSP across the mat and use the spreader end of the glue bottle to make sure there is adhesive right up to the edges, but be sure not to leave any blobs of glue spread them all out.
- Crumple the tissue paper really well before carefully opening it up and placing it onto the glued DSP and whilst gently patting it down some of the creases will remain to give the impression of faux silk. Ideally you don't want big folds but you also don't want to smooth it out completely.
- The excess tissue paper can be cut off with a pair of scissors once the glue has dried.
- Use your die to die cut the shape you want; I've used the Seasonal Labels dies.
- to finish the card add layers of the DSP with some of the die cuts included in the DSP pack and also a matt layer created using the Split Card Textures dies and add some Rustic Metal adhesive backed dots.
- I also used Cajun Craze card and die cut the bottom of the same die for the faux silk piece to create an add on to my sentiment block. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up! set.
You can see the gentle creasing below but also the softening of the DSP which stops if from overpowering the die cut focal image of the car.
You can see another pretty floral and butterfly example of this technique from some years ago on this Stampingscene post. On this occasion I did the same technique but stamped on the tissue paper before adhering it to the white card. You need to be careful with this alternative that you use a fine layer of glue to avoid the ink bleeding.
Enjoy our hop and get lots of ideas and inspiration.
Happy weekend, keep safe and keep stamping

Joyful Life Christmas Helpers
Happy Sunday and welcome to my blog on this at the moment sunny morning. I'm sharing a very simple fancy fold card today for my contribution to our Christmas Card Club Challenge. Today's theme is Santa's helpers so I've used the fun set Joyful Life and stamped this super cute hedgehog in Tuxedo Black Memento ink before colouring it in with alcohol markers. Having fussy cut it out I added it to a die cut circle on a die cut scalloped circle of Shaded Spruce card. I added a ribbon offcut by stapling it onto the green circle and some dots with a chalk marker. A simple sentiment on a stitched die cut rectangle and you have a quick and easy card.
The card base is a C6 and I have scored the card front at 5.25 and folded it back on itself before adding patterned paper to the inside and the front panel.
This weekend we are empty nesters with Charlie well and truly settled into Uni and Liv has gone to meet up with Uni friends. It's quiet without them which is nice, but I'm not sure I'm ready for it full time just yet. The four legged critters are keeping us busy though which fills the void.
Keep safe lovely readers and keep stamping.

Summer Fun - Cocktail anyone?
Our new challenge at MAWTT - Moving Along With The Times - is Summer Fun or Summer Colours. This is such a fun and easy challenge I hope you'll join in the fun.
I used the Stampin' Up! Nothing's Better Than stamp set and spotlighted this tasty looking cocktail to create a Happy Holiday card. I shaped some Pansy Petals DSP using the Basic Border dies and layered it onto a piece of Granny Apple Green card. I've embossed a white circle and matted that onto a Magenta Madness die cut scalloped circle and added an untied bow of gold thread. I've also embossed a design in white to add to the idea of summer foliage although it is actually a Christmas stamp from new set Words of Cheer. I love to get more than just Christmas use from my seasonal stamp sets.
I've played about with words from the sentiments in the same set to create a wish for a great holiday with some bling.
I coloured what I think looks a little like a Tequila Sunrise cocktail with Stampin' Blends and have sat dreaming of a sunny holiday ever since.
I hope to see your card over on the MAWTT challenge blog at some point this month. You can visit the blog here.
Keep safe and keep stamping and best wishes for a fabulous holiday if you are escaping.
Hugs Zoe xx
