Eclectic Means Easy

As you know Stampin' Up! has a big, HUGE, promotion every January through to March offering free gifts with purchases and the gifts are always amazing stamp sets, papers or embellishments. Most are never available to buy, but they are all very desirable and one of this year's fab gifts is Eclectic Expressions which to look at as a stamp set image doesn't possibly grab you, but the crafting and stamping possibilities are endless and really simple when you are stuck for a quick card.

All you need are basic supplies stamps, paper and ink and if you have them you can then embellish with ribbon and/or rhinestones, dots or whatever you have in your stash.  Although I haven't used it here white ribbon is a great staple to have as you can always use your Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to colour it to match your project.

In my card today I've used inks in pear pizzazz, bermuda bay and island indigo.  I've added night of navy ribbon and old olive and dapper denim enamel spots.  I used my new Stamparatus which is the best stamp positioning tool to hit the market (coming very soon for ordering)  to stamp my thank yous perfectly on my white card and then I've added the circles which are made in such a way as to appear watercolored. The stamps are textured and therefore give some subtle definition and texture to your stamping.  The stamped piece is then matted onto pear pizzazz and island indigo card.

You could make it even simpler by just tying the ribbon around the stamp white card, but I chose to add a strip of tear and tape (double sided sticky tape) to the card making sure to overlap it top and bottom to tuck the ribbon ends away.  You can then just remove the backing from the sticky and work down pinching the ribbon as you go and pushing it onto the sticky strip.  I've added a bow separately with a glue dot.  If you don't like bows have you tried the 'bunny ears' technique?  Just make two similar size loops in your ribbon and then tie them in a single knot.  It might need a little tweaking but it's by far the quickest and easiest way to tie a bow.

Remember that this stamp set is free with a purchase of £45 from my Stampin' Shop through until 31 March 2018.

Have fun with this abstract set that has all the basic sentiments you need too!

Stampin' Up! Parties

Stampin' Up! parties are a little different to other product parties because everyone gets to make something and take it home.   I love running them for my customers because it gives me the chance to share what I love about my job - crafting and spending time with lovely people.  It also gives me a chance to show everyone how easy it is to find your creative side.

By way of thanking my hostesses for inviting me into their home I make them a gift. This is one of several I made recently for my January hostesses.  Now you might think 'how does she come up with the ideas?'. Well the answer is simple I use the resources made available to me by Stampin' Up!.  There's a bi-monthly newsletter with ideas and tutorials, a demonstrator website that hosts videos tutorials and webinars and there's a Stampin' Up! run forum with demonstrators from all over the world sharing pictures of projects made, tips, tricks and support.

If you think you might like to come and join us please do contact me for more information about how you can buy our starter kit for £99, choose £160 or product and start crafting for fun with friends or running your own business to earn a little extra for more luxuries in life.  Interested, but not quite convinced you can host a party and use the hostess rewards to part pay for this fantastic kit.

Sincerely Yours to share Stampin' Up!

I'm hoping for one of the best days ever today. I have a stand at the Sincerely Yours show where I'm sharing my love of Stampin' Up! with anyone who passes!  We're excited to be showing off some of the new products from the Spring catalogue and of course the free sets you can get your hands on with qualifying purchases or parties or maybe you'd rather benefit from your craft shopping at a discount for as long as you want by buying the starter kit and receiving extra goodies while this promotion lasts.

Best Day Ever stamp set is one of those 'free' sets and is great for any level of crafting as it has lots of shapes and a couple of sentiments. I'm sure just about everyone of you can claim to have had a 'best day ever' and could scrapbook it on a traditional layout or for the busier folk amongst you in a project life album where you can quickly record special memories with pre printed cards and journaling tags to add your personal record.

I've done a simple layout on this card that could upscale to a scrapbook page or be recreated for project life.  Some faux stitching with a pen, moonlight DSP mini stack papers and silver glimmer paper punched stars from the Itty Bitty punch pack and you have a card, scrapbook and project life layout.  Easy or what!

Colours today are blackberry bliss, lost lagoon and hello honey from the 2014-2016 in colour collection.

Hope you are having one of your Best Days Ever!

Stampin' Up! Spring Mini - so lovely

What more could you want to adorn a card, gift box or cloth bag than one of these beautiful Blossom Party Die flowers.  Yes it's a Stampin' Up! exclusive die and can be used on over 50 different types of material including fabric hence the reference to decorating cloth bags or making fabric flower brooches.

The die is available from Stampin' Up! and in is the current Spring Mini Catalogue.  By it now before the end of March along with a couple of other trinkets and you'll get yourself a free stamp set or pack of very yummy everyday enchantment designer series paper.   The die is very reasonably priced at £16.50 and will bring you hours of die cutting fun.  I've teamed it up with the Stampin' Around standard wheel Musical Notes and a fitting sentiment from Thank You Kindly.   A little bit of smudging with a sponge dauder, curling with my paper piercer handle ,  pearls and you're there! What could be simpler.

There's also this version of the same card which I intended for One Layer Wednesday Challenge, but I only realised today that the W in OLW stood for Wednesday so I'm to late to offer my cream base, black ink with a bit of bling card, but I'd still like to share it with you.  Ornate Flowers provides surprisingly the flower, the sentiment is the same and having stamped the image I masked it with paper and then used the Stampin' Around wheel.  This time rhinestones added dimension to the centre of my flower and covered the challenge requirement of 'bling'.
You can see other cards using the Stampin Around Musical Notes Wheel.
Hope you are not having such a scatty day as me!

Cardstock - poppy parade, naturals ivory

Stampin' Valentine to you!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. I hope you receive a note in the post, a card from your loved one or a bouquet or at the very least a little kiss from someone you love.
Here is the card I made for my husband.  I wanted it to be full of love, but also masculine and seeing as he made the right kind of noises I guess it hit the mark!
Do you know anything of the history of Valentine's Day, for example do you know that it was first established by Pope Gelasius 1 in 496 AD in honour of one or more martyrs named Valentinus.  It was removed from the General Roman Calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul V1.  Numerous countries celebrate this day although everyone still goes to work on this special day.  If you want to know more look here in Wikipedia.  In the meantime have yourself a special day and enjoy the love that comes your way.

Happy Stampin'

Sale-a-bration - Elementary Elegance

There's a new piece of kit in the Stampin' Up! USA that I really hope comes over here.  You can create fancy 'bottoms' to your cards and projects and I really like the effects I've seen.  So much so that I decided I'd have a go with the tools I already have and so with the top note die and a circle punch I created the bottom of this card.  It allows you to link your dsp to the inside of the card.  It's not difficult and and just adds a little something different.  Why don't you try doing something different with the Stampin' Up! UK tools you have available!

More soon Zx

cardstock - melon mambo, whisper white and indigo island DSP
stamps - elementary elegance, SAB set
tools - big shot, top note die, curly label punch, itty bitty shapes punch pack, circle punch

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration sets for Simply Stunning

There's a plaque on my sign wall in our family room that says 'If it wasn't for the last minute, nothing would get done around here!' and this card is no exception.  I've been playing about with stamps and  paper today preparing for a class and I came up with this card and have decided to put it into Shelli's 'simply stunning' challenge (the challenge ends today!).  It is simple and the colour of calypso coral, one of Stampin' Up! 's 2012-2013 in colours is really the simply stunning part apart from the fact that it is now dark here and getting a good photo is not my strong point, but you can certainly start to feel the warm glow of this colour which is just perfect for the cold weather here at the moment.
I've got around to using my new designer frames embossing folders (yes even demonstrators have new kit lying around just being admired for some time before they actually use it!) and aren't they just dandy.  I love this idea of having an instant frame and I like the hand torn edge that you can create around it.  Hand torn always makes me think of my Dad who told my Mum he liked her card, but did she realise it was ripped!!!!!
The crumb cake seam binding is just terrific for this sort of project and its softness makes it easy for anyone to tie a bow without it looking awful, even you Paul!!! I've used a combo of SAB sets, because after all you must realise by now that they are more than worth the £45 spend to get them for FREE.  The flower is from fresh vintage and the sentiment from elementary elegance.  The crimper and a sponge dauber have provided the back drop to my picture and as ever my favourite accessory pearls.
Come back soon.

Blissful silk

stampin up demonstrator zoe tant uk

Oh the SALE-A-BRATION period is almost over and you've got just over 2 days to get your hands on the gorgeous free stamp sets on offer with qualifying spends from Stampin' Up!
I've put another, yes another, I'm not sorry for showing Bliss off again because it's gorgeous.  This is a simple faux silk card that I demonstrated at a recent workshop to my lovely ladies in Birchwood Lincoln.  The colours have been really popular with pear pizzazz and daffodil delight encouraging spring to arrive.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute which is a super set for congrats, birthdays or simply thinking about others.  A couple of our amazing punches here too with the scallop trim border and the modern label.
IF you'd like to know how to create this effect then you can join one of my techniques clubs or join one of my classes that will be starting very soon. If you are interested in coming to a monthly class let me know and I can give you the details of your nearest location as I will be running classes in several venues very soon.
Enjoy the weekend.

One for the boys!

stampin up demonstrator zoe tant

Life is back now to it's normal taxi service this week after the end of the panto and the usual extra curricular activities have kicked in for my children.  However apart from my MIL staying I am free to get back to crafting a bit and so made this card for a friend and as it was for a chap thought I'd share it with you because I think it is fair to say that it is a theme that we all struggle with.
The Celebrations DSP are fab for this type of male card with rich primary colours and I've teamed them up with various shades of blue and used a retired clear button to add some texture.  Under the button I punched several circles in matching colours to make a different feature and I've sewn on the colours with silver elastic thread.  Paper piercing and the crimper add more texture and the sentiment is from the Punch Bunch sale-a-bration set.  This was embossed in white using the craft whisper white ink  pad and white emboss powder and I've also stamped it in poppy parade on poppy parade cs and cut out the piece I wanted to highlight the greeting.
Happy Birthday Stuart.
Back soon with more.

Blissful Sale-a-bration

stampin up demonstrator zoe tant

Oh I am so loving these fabulous Sale-a-bration stamp sets that Stampin Up is giving away at the moment. This one no surprisingly is called Bliss and I've had a blissful day sharing it with some of my customers at one of my techniques clubs today.  You can see the whole set if you click on the SAB brochure image in the right hand side bar. Colours are rose red, crumb cake and pink pirouette which I've really taken a shine to..... I've also used the white organza ribbon and dyed it using a dauber and the pink pirouette inkpad.  The in vogue ruffled ribbon is here again and is so easy to do; just put sticky strip across your card and then weave the ribbon backwards and forwards gathering it as you go across.  You can make it as ruffled as you want. To achieve an even fuller look you can add another line of sticky strip just above the first ribbon and then adhere in the same way.  The basic pearls make another appearance too as they are just so perfect for a dreamy project like this.  Love it!
Another club tonight so until next time....happy crafting.
Hugs Zx

Sad times!!

From the excitement of Valentine's cards I've sadly had to make a sympathy card for my dear friend Pamela whose mother died recently. She was 96, but it is still very sad. Our thoughts are with Pamela and Terry at this sad time. We are sorry for your loss.

Workshop Fun with Stampin' Up!

Well it's been an interesting 10 days or so. Last weekend I took the opportunity to have some special girl time with Olivia, once we'd dropped Charlie off at a party. We did lunch and then hit that designer shop Primarni! Olivia is loving experimenting with fashion and what better place for cost effective fashion conscious not quite teen shopping spree!!!! Spent out we headed back to get the boy only to have him return home to negotiate being paid to go to bed!!! Needless to say he lost that negotiation. Olivia is now in the middle of panto time and is thriving on the excitement of curtain up etc. Meanwhile I'm exhausted just trying to get everyone in the right place at the right time! But hey if you don't weaken it beats vegging at home!

I've also been busy with my crafting and at one of my recent workshops I demoed this card as the make and take. It uses the fun Sale-a-bration set Happy Moments which really lends itself to lots of cards for happy moments. This is obvious as a birthday card, but in different colour combos and wording you could make it for an anniversary, wedding or Christmas. The punched out circles give texture and depth to the project along with the layered parcels. I used the blender pens and ink pads to add some colour to the top parcel which is just stamped. I love the combo of old olive, chocolate chip and bashful blue. Needless to say all the ladies and children came up with their own wonderful creations and I've loaded them onto my customer blog The Stamping Hamster for you to browse and gather inspiration.

I hope your week is progressing well. I'll be back soon with more news and pics.

Make a difference in the lives of Haitian people!!

Stampin' Up! will donate £1 from every Greenhouse Garden Stamp Set sold from now until 28 February 2010 to the Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

I will match this donation and give you free shipping on your order if you spend £45 including Greenhouse Garden (113824 £22.95) in your order. You will also receive a free Sale-a-bration Stamp Set of your choice. This offer is open to club members also. Additionally everyone who orders this set during this time will be entered into a draw to win a pretties kit worth £23.25.

I do not own this beautiful set, but now have it on order and I hope you will join me in supporting this worthy cause. I'm looking forward to experimenting with this beautiful stamp set. It works well with a stamp-a-ma-jig or freehand and many of the flowers fit nicely within the various circle punches.

Let hope that in the UK alone we raise a substantial amount to help these poor people, many of whom even before the earthquake had lives much less comfortable than most of us.

Make this a great day and help support someone much less fortunate than you!

Thank you in advance for your support.
